ALL my fish get an equal chance to eat now and no mess!
WHY HAVE I WAITED SO LONG TO GET THIS FISH FOOD?!This stuff is gold. I used to have to be so strategic when feeding my fish floating food because my 8 year old Jack Dempseys would eat everything in one huge gulp before the smaller fish even had a chance to get a piece. With this food, it immediately falls, so now, my smaller cichlids get an entire meal, every time! Also, the food in general is almost completely mess free. I've never had fish food that is this clean! Theres no need to chew the food since the pellets are small so they just swallow them whole. I thought that they may be too small for my Jack Demspseys but boy was i wrong. They LOVE this stuff and the like to scavenge and suck it up from the tank floor. I have sand on the bottom which is nice with this food. I also read up on floating food and they say its bad for the fish to ingest so much air, so this solves that problem. Not only do I love it, but my fish my love it! Even my pleco eats this stuff when it falls to the bottom! Stop feeding your fish the other brands, this one is the one. You and your cichlids will be happy you did!

Best food for cichlids
I've used Spectrum for years now, and have always had great results. My fish are colorful and active. Cichlids are difficult because there are different varieties that eat different things in nature. This food is good for all cichlids. Not too much meat proteins for the vegetarian fish (like Protomelas species). I used to get bloat occasionally from feeding too much meat proteins to my vegetarian fish. I have not had a single case of bloat with Spectrum. Foods like North Fin are great for carnivorous species, but not for Protomelas (Ex. Red Empress, Tangerine Tiger, Taiwan Reef, etc).

Another High Quality New Life Spectrum Fish Food
Pros1 - .5 mm size is just right for all smaller sized fish.2 - High quality food3 - Does not fall apart in the water4 - Fish LOVE the foodConsNONEOverall - I have fish of various varieties and sizes and they all do very well on New Life Spectrum foods. The pellets do not fall apart in the water and the fish devour them. I feed both .5 mm and 2 mm pellets along with some New Life Spectrum flake food as well. This way all my fish, small and large at swimming at all levels of the tank are well fed. I've had so much success with the New Life Spectrum foods that they are the only dried fish foods I use, Highly Recommended!

Good quality food, too small for smaller cichlids
My fish seem to like it, however the pieces are really small. My cichlids are not very big, maybe 1-3 inches and it's too small for them. The pieces start sinking pretty fast and are messy.

NLS is the best fish food
NLS is the best fish food. My cichlids love this stuff. I actually never even used up this whole tub of food though. I got this and also the Large fish formula. My cichlids all started out small and on these 1mm pellets. They all grew up large enough for the large formula pellets before I even used all the 1mm pellets up. Cichlids go crazy over these things...well worth the money.

My fish love it.
It isn't that I love it. My fish love it, and they have ignored some other pellet foods. The 1 mm diameter works well for my Silver Dollars, Golden Severum and Oscars - all 2" to 3" body length. Also glad the product page and the container clearly state the size. Some product descriptions and labels omit that important dimension. I do wish that they sank a little slower. A tip: I've added some fine gravel to my tank's coarse gravel so food that falls to the bottom can still be found and eaten. For variety I use freeze-dried blood worms and as a treat some frozen brine shrimp.Problem (10/3/17) My second order was for the 250 gm jar, also labeled 1 mm. But the pellets look like .5 mm, so small that most may fall to the gravel and be lost between the pebbles. I may return it and try the smaller jar hoping it is 1 mm (1/25 of an inch)

Fish love it
My fish won't eat other foods like they do this. I tried switching foods just to add some variety, and they weren't happy about it. I like the size, as the fry can eat it as well. They love this stuff.

My fish love it. Amazon has the best price anywhere
My fish love it. These are perfect for my Malawi Cichlids. I like the small size so that all my cichlids can eat these. I just feed them a little more because of their size. Amazon has the best price anywhere! Quality food
