Will require precision fitting.
If you take your old nut off. Lay it on a hard surface. Pick it up and drop it and hear how dead the plastic sounds. Do the same with the Tusq nut. It rings and sings. Just like Bone.It does require fitting. As on my Ibanez RG321 the nut slot was higher in the wood on the treble side. I filed the slot flat by hand with a emery file for your nails and 220/300 sandpaper, I also used my SHARP pocket knife to scrap the slot in harder to get areas. The corner is the toughest part. And I used a piece of a paint stirring stick as a small sand block for leveling the slot. Take your time. It does not take much to change the height of the string slots.I want to add here that is highly recommended to file on the part and not the guitar. Unless you are like me and have a nut slot that is or rather was tapered in the seat of the slot. If your slot is flat, clean off the old glue if applicable. And file only on the new nut part itself.Once you have it where you want it in comparison to the old nut. String it up and play the guitar but do not glue the nut yet. Make sure the first fret feels good and that it does not buzz.Your low E and High E are your guides. The center strings will follow the two E strings.Sand some more.Little bits at a time. If you go a hair to far. The nut is still good. You can either add a coat of water thin super glue on the slot to raise it. Or adjust the truss ever so slightly (On many guitars a 1/4 turn loose is probably enough) You can also add a small turn to your bridge adjustment screws to compensate.Once you have it perfect. Two dabs of water thing superglue is all you need. String it to pitch first let the strings put the nut where it naturally goes. Double check for nut hang over then glue it. Even if it fits tight the super glue will penetrate the crack. Have paper towel handy.....it helps wipe excess off before it sets.

Make sure you have your measurments right
I had gotten this nut for Ibanez grg120ex because it was not staying in tune so I ordered this nut to replace it.When I got the nut i had taken off the old nut and put the new one and strung it upLater to realise that the nut height was too lowSo I had to find a business card to see if I made a shim for the nutI had made one shim to boost the height and it did fix it a little but the a and d string buzzed...Alot.So I had made another shim and Bam!If was fixed and now my guitar plays great

Noticeable difference in playability
Installed this in 2018 PRS Se Custom 24. Was concerned at first because it was noticeably shorter than stock but once I put it on....what a difference in playability and tuning stability! Kind of makes me mad that a company like PRS would skimp on such a simple but important part of their instruments.

No more stuck in the nut strings.
Strings no longer bind in the nut. Easier to tune and stays tuned through bends and trem arm dives. Highly recommended to cure your binding nut issues.
