Ready to throw down
This dino is a great compromise between absolute anatomical accuracy and art. I like that these replicas are realistic, but they are ultimately collectible and fun because of the artists skill with posture, texture and color. There is some artistic license with this guy, but nothing outrageous. My son loves this guy - it's now one of his favorites. What kiddo wouldn't like an Acrocanthosaurus believably out hunting fast-food, and looking bad-assed doing it. You can see the motion in this posture, the colors are great, and the attitude is wicked. An all-around success.

Spinosaurus, eat your heart out!
The fact that I found a model of this particular dinosaur is pretty awesome. The paint job and sculpt are really fantastic on this figure (even though, he's not 100% proportionally accurate). The pose is excellent and the figure is extremely durable and great for play. The attention to detail is really nice and any collector would appreciate it. Overall, this Acrocanthosaurus is a great find and I would recommend him for anyone, kid or collector.

Smaller than I realized... should have looked ...
Smaller than I realized...should have looked at the product details a little more closely. It also does not balance well on its feet; nevertheless my son likes it since we saw a representation of one at the Raleigh Natural History Museum.

Great for the price
This is a great dino figure for the price. I can't give it five stars because it's not up to the standards of the Schleich or Papo dino figures, but I wish I could give it four and a half to elevate it above the other figures in its own price class like Baidecor. I got this, a Baidecor spinosaurus, and a Papo dimetrodon for my three year old son. All arrived yesterday. The Papo dimetrodon was freaking STUNNING, this Acrocanthosaurus was great, and the Baidecor spinosaurus was very good overall (big, heavy, stands on its own feet, well cast with no flashing) but had definite painting flaws. If you want to stay in the sub-$15 range for a sizable figure, this is definitely a good buy. If you're *willing* to go into the $20-$30 range, though, the extra money is worth it.

Cool dino to display on your desk at home or work.
The Safari model looks more like the Acro featured in Discovery Channel's Megabeast episode, Great American Predator. The Acro has good detail. And above all else, the Acro is shown with its tail raised to depict a more scientifically accurate look. Safari didn't take the easy way out by having the Acro's tail touching the ground - the dreaded "tripod" look. Compare the Safari Acro with the one produced by Carnegie to see what I'm talking about. In conclusion, the Safari Acro is a nice addition to anyone's dinosaur collection.

Great Acro!
The detail on this dinosaur is pretty good. Tbough it is not part of Safari Carnegie Collection, it does match up in scale as a medium size young adult on a 1:40 scale. The old version for the CC was horrible in comparison and does not even look like a Acrocanthosaurus. This is the best Acro you will find for this scale or even at all.

I returned it. It was way to small.
I thought it was way to small given the price. Not what I was looking for so it was returned.

REALISTIC LOOKING
B/4 YOU SAY HOW WOULD I KNOW WHAT A REAL ACROCANTHOSAURUS LOOKS LIKE, I HAVE COLLECTED A LOT OF DINOS AND SOME LOOKED LIKE THEY BELONGED ON A CARTOON. THE ONES I LIKE TO COLLECT NEED TO LOOK FIERCE IN OTHER WORDS I LIKED THE DETAILS OF THIS ONE.
