Received a thick trunk and 2 smaller branches wrapped in a damp paper towel... put them all in a jar with water and with in a week started to see root nodes and then 1 week later nice root growth and leaves forming... just planted in some light warrior soil for their first week of soil and will move to ocean forest... looking forward to shaping my little trees since all 3 that were sent to me are taking off.... will buy from again

Refused to grow!
I bought this and the globe willow from this seller and was initially impressed as they gave me a few extra pieces to grow just in case. I followed their directions, and have done this before with success, but had little luck with any of the stalks. Initially I had 4/6 start sprouting leaves as I had expected because 2 of the extras were such thin tiny sticks, but less than a week later was down to 2/6. Eventually I only had one left, and that one has now died as well. Once again, I followed the enclosed instructions exactly, and I have had success with these types of things before, but these stalks refused to grow and now all 6 are dead.

Be Patient
The media could not be loaded. I bought from this company back in 2019. This bonsai is 6 years in the making. Be patient. It is now 2025. I am happy with purchase.

Interesting plant.... grows FAST!
Optimistically hopeful? My "roots" arrived today. They were packaged in a bag inside of an envelope with a paper towel around the bottom. The towel was still damp, so that's good. The package arrived in good shape, even tho it was an envelope, there was no damage at all. I know many people say that these grow very fast, so I plan on following the directions and remain hopeful. I WILL update in a few weeks and give a follow up review. I will state that there are several little leaf sprouts on the sticks, and little white nubs that I'm assuming are starter roots, so I'm excited to see what will happen. I plan on keeping inside a glass for a couple weeks and give the roots time to grow. I really, really, really hope they do well.... I'm giving it 4 stars on faith, and will update my rating when I update review.UPDATED REVIEW**It has only been a week since my first review, and the 2 "sticks" have so many roots and plants on them! I'm pleasantly surprised by how well they are growing!

this one didn’t do so well. arrived with passengers!
i’ve purchased cuttings here several different times. This one just seems to be failing to thrive, cuttings i received more recently have blown by this on in growth and health. I will keep caring for them and we will see. I think my biggest complaint with any of these willow cuttings. They come with spider mites always and we’re particularly bad on this willow. That may be the culprit. I really don’t think i will buy anymore from here because of the mite problem, it has been a hassle getting rid of them, keeping them quarantined, etc. I hope they address this.

AWESOME! And, fast growing! YOU DEFINITELY WANT THIS!
I'm cutting and pasting my review for this company's other Bonsai plant that I bought. Both are great and something you really want ... if you want lush greenery in your house or arboretum. So, here is what I said about their Dwarf Bonsai plant ... this one is the same thing ... AWESOME!So, what shows up is something like a stick with a moist paper towel around the bottom. When I order this (and the other one - the Dragon Bonsai), I figured, "Okay, if this is stupid, I'll send it back." But, hey, it showed up like I said. I immediately put it water and overnight there was green growth popping out ... A LOT of green growth and roots, too. With each new day, MORE NEW GROWTH and LOTS OF ROOTS. I had ordered pots to put them in, but the pots were delayed (thank you, COVID-19!) ... anyway, by the time the pots show up a week later, there was over four inches of green, lush growth and roots, roots, and more roots. I planted them and now they're really growing! The way these "sticks" grow reminds of what I do with Dieffenbachias ... over the years, I have started several new Dieffenbachia plants the same way. You just slice the stalk of the plant, put it in water and it starts growing a new plant!

Not so lucky this time
I soaked the two 'sticks' in water and a dusting of rooting hormone for nearly a month - changing the water every 2-3 days of course. The sad excuse for a root on one of them and lack of further development led me to plant them in a mix of potting and succuluent soil, with something like 10% afternoon sun and the remainder in the shade, Unfortunately, it looks like they did die during the initial rooting period, as I've yet to see the slightest sign of life.As a final measure, I took the thinner stick and removed ~1cm pieces down until I either reached any green tissue or whether it was dead through and through. Sadly that was the case, as it was brown and even rotting in some areas. I doubt its big brother is faring any bretterGiven the high reviews here, I'd love to give it another go as I'm not entirely sure where I went so wrong. My Black mulberry seems to be thriving, while the one I was really interested in just didn't make it...

NEED HELP - Update as of September 9, 2019 - still a 5 Star Rating- need advise on how to trim
July 1 Received 3 trunks 1 thick and 2 thin. Put immediately in water as directions said with nothing added for fertilizer .. after week 1 - 2 had roots and all had leaves. After the 2nd week all 3 trunks showing roots and leaves.Update August 5 all 3 trees still doing well .. getting ready to plant in soil .. hope the transition continues growth. I am using the ocean forest soil as recommended .. will update again after the potting has time to show results .. so far am impressedUpdate Sep9-update- all 3 are still doing well .. even after wiring in and planting in ocean-forest soil as recommended with a thin layer of lava rock at the bottom of training pots. At first planting in soil I let it dry out and some leaves turned brown at the edges. So saturated the pots and I trimmed them .. now they have new growth after just 10 days. Seems to be a stupid question but there are some branches extending fairly long and would think that I should now trim them to a length so they they will grow thicker adding stability. How many branches and how much should I cut back without affecting the health .. new pics provided
