The coffee arrived in a very nice and sturdy box. Everything was well packaged and the 3 cans were not damaged at all. The coffee itself was well sealed. However, the taste to me seemed just like ordinary instant coffee. Since it is African coffee and the good reviews I read on Amazon I was curious because I love coffee. Now I will drink all of the coffee because it does taste ok. But again for me I expected from the reviews outstanding and it was not outstanding. It was good coffee.

Grocery store instant coffees are so flavorless I went hunting for something better. But the reviews here don't tell you much about the coffee, so here goes. First, it seems to be pure coffee. Second, it is a light roast with virtually no acidity, which I like very much. (I also like dark roasts very much, but acidity is a turn-off.) Third, there is something about it that is a little hard to describe, but that may explain why reviewers who had lived in Tanzania missed it. You feel something in your mouth, something more than wateriness, but not obvious like Turkish coffee. It is not exactly a powdery feeling, but a pleasant something that makes it more substantial than plain coffee. It's a "slow down and enjoy it" kind of feeling in a mild-flavored coffee. The caffeine content seems to be average, not high like some African coffees.The first can I opened was only half-full, but I have an accurate kitchen balance, and I weighed the contents: exactly 100 g as advertised, so it can settle in shipment.

I drank Africafe every day when I lived in Tanzania, and for many years I could not find it in the U.S. Well, that first cup felt like a drug. I became so relaxed and the scent and flavor brought me back to a place I miss very much.

I bought as a gift for someone.

Myself and my family love its taste and aroma. I recommend it to those who are looking for a good instant coffee.

This stuff is the real deal. It is so awesome, especially with a bit of fresh cream in it. :)
