Great resource for indoor gardeners!
I want to have a garden but I don't have a lot of room for one, so I was happy to find Indoor Gardening: How to Grow Gorgeous Gardens Indoors with Ease by Will Cook. This book is well organized and straight forward. Will Cook lists benefits of gardening, how to overcome common problems with indoor gardens and much more. My favorite chapter was The Best Types of Plants for Indoor Gardening. A nice photograph was included of each plant and that helped me to get an idea of how the plants would look in different parts of my house. I also liked the link to the Facebook gardening group. I plan on utilizing them in the future as I develop my indoor garden. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn more about gardening in a small place. It is a good resource for novices and green thumbs alike!

A Quick Read, But Chock-Full of Useful Gardening Tips
This is the second book I've read by Will Cook and once again I'm very pleased as he manages to cover a lot in a short space. I've been gardening indoors for decades, more self-taught than anything. In that time, I've never thought about the benefits other than enjoyment, but Will spends the first chapter discussing several benefits to gardening. He goes on to talk about everything to consider for the initial set-up so you'll be prepared before you start bringing stray plants home. What I found most useful was the section on guarding your plants from pests and diseases which includes photographs and descriptions on how to deal with (organically!) three of the most common indoor pests. Between plant, design and container ideas, I found a lot of inspiration in this book and look forward to making some changes to my indoor garden soon.

Encouraging if you're a beginning Gardener
But doesn't include much for a more experienced one.It does have nice pictures and informative links, so it was worth the read for me. Easy to understand and well written, with only a few typos. Not really a lot of houseplant or veggie info that I didn't already know, but the pest and compost info, as well as the seed facts, could prove helpful for some folks.

Nice how to...
This was a very easy read, and a very good guide for beginners who want to start an indoor garden. I would say this is a nice guide for finding no-fuss plants and points you in the direction of finding what you need to fix most issues that you'll run across when starting to learn about gardening.

...turning over a new leaf....
I recently decided to start some indoor gardening to teach my children more about the life cycle so the timing of finding this book was perfect. This is a great primer to introduce not only the basics, but also the things I hadn't thought about like how to control the climate in my home beyond the temperature. The homemade remedies for pest control were right on the button for me, too, as my home is GREEN and I use only natural ingredients. I'm so excited now to get to the store and purchase what I need to begin. Great book, great idea-starters, and GREAT and helpful information.

This book barely scratched the surface.
I would not call this book a 'how to' book.. more like a 'ideas that you then must do further intensive research on'. It gave many ideas on what you could do with an indoor garden and how might start... but hardly any true details on any of them. For example, it mentions how easy and unique aerial gardens and mentions that they dont even require soil.. but as someone who has never heard of this type of gardening, I still have absolutely NO idea on what this entails. This book is as simple as it could possibly be and to accomplish anything suggested in it would require other books or a lot of google research which leaves this book totally unnecessary...

It's Okay
Really for beginners. It just wasn't what I was looking for specifically. I read through it quickly. But if you are a beginner in houseplant indoor gardening, this is the book for you.

Indoor Gardening
Always a bonus to be able to grow your own even in winter in this time of recession along with the knowledge you know exactly how the food was grown.
