When they come new from desertcart, the filter is in that thin cardboard box that you see in desertcart's picture, and that box is in a plastic bag type of shipping container. So there is the possibility of damage in shipping. If you get one where the Mann box is mangled looking, crushed, I'd probably return it. But mine have never come damaged in any way.
