Review: Great heavy duty cutting mat - This mat is a top-quality heavy-duty cutting mat that provides an excellent surface for cutting materials in my wife's sewing room. The only drawback is the opacity of the mat makes seeing the grid mat below difficult to make out the lines. Otherwise, I would recommend this mat for any job that requires a durable cutting surface. My wife is totally satisfied with it.
Review: It does take up the whole room but hey it works great! - Game changer!!! I no longer have to slide around huge layers and pieces of material in order to not cut up my table. Prior to it arriving, I was planning to lay it on the floor for cutting, but all I did was put 2 6-ft tables lengthwise together and a 3rd 6-ft table on the end. It does take up the whole room but hey it works great!

**Q: How good is the self-healing of the mat? I ask because I plan on using it for cutting a lot of cotton fabric for making quilts**
A: It's great! I run a sign shop and we cut on it daily! I've had mine for about 11 months and I'm getting ready to buy 2 more because it's such a durable product. 5 stars!

**Q: I have a table that is exactly 4 feet wide.  is this mat 48" wide?  or is it slightly larger due to "borders" ?**
A: The mat itself...the thick cutting mat...is 48.125" wide. This product comes in two parts: the thick cutting mat and a thin mat that sits under the cutting mat. The thin mat has the measurements in inches on it. That thin mat sits under the thick mat and has a grid on it with a border. The border contains measurements. Length is 0-92", width is 0-44". So you can see from the width difference that the grid is smaller than the cutting mat.

**Q: How is it delivered?  Does the mat roll up?**
A: Yes it comes rolled up.

**Q: How thick is this mat?  And does it lay flat after a while?**
A: It is 1/4" thick and will lay flat once it is rolled out.
