Sounds authentic. It plays comfortably after basic set up. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ has the crisp sound, of a very expensive, hand made mandolin *by J***H on December 17, 2023* the overall appearance, is amazing, and a fabulous sound comes out of it, sound quality like this usually comes out of a vintage Gibson, or a Martin, super!! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ An incredible value for a really good mando *by C***H on January 25, 2020* For the money, this is the best instrument I've ever bought. Its beautiful to look at, comfortable to play, and sounds wonderful. I'm really glad I held out for the 276. I love the dark brown color. The tone is bright with dark undercurrents. Not "tubby" or dead sounding at all. The notes are clean down to the 12th fret. The action is low, but not buzzy at all. Its important to remember that this is a $500 mandolin, not a $5000 mandolin. This instrument is for people on a real budget who have realized that their 'entry level" mando is holding them back.
