What type of pilot do you need for glass?** A: If you make a hole the aize you are trying to make in a small plank of wood first, tou can then clamp the wood plank to the glass or ceramic you intend to cut a hole into and the wood plank will act as a guide/stabiliser. This is how I have always made precise, no wobble cuts when challenged with using a hole saw without a pilot bit in the center. Although, I do have many piloted wood hole saws that I can use to create the guide plank, so that helps. Hopefully this makes sense amd you understand the method I have explained. **Q: Is there an available guide for this tool?** A: Not that I know of, I found cutting thru brick I had to take it slow. I just tipped the cutting tool slightly till I had started a slight half circle then was able to hold to start the full circle. I was very surprised that it did a nice job cutting thru the brick half at a time **Q: How long do they last? Or how often can you use them** A: I bought the set for two particular diameters that I needed. I have used those to drill holes several times and they worked well. They are ideal for someone like me who needs to make several holes in tiles while renovating a bathroom. I would probably buy again for my purposes. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worked better than I hoped *by J***T on April 18, 2022* A while back my wife and I did a pottery class. One of the pieces in particular was somewhat small and a little wonky, but had so much character I wanted to make it into a pot for a peperomia. After looking at a few options, I decided to give this set a try. It was the cheapest option and I honestly worried it might not hold up to even one use. I was surprised that it did the job well and quickly. The outer glaze was vary hard and the bottom of the cup turned pot was about an inch thick! However, once the initial cut was made, the bit did a great job going through the entire base. When I was done there was plenty of grit left on the bit to do another pot or even a few more if needed. Plus this came with quite a few sized bits, so I'd be able to do several more pots even if each bit only lasted 2-3 pots. If you are looking to just do a couple small holes in ceramic for a hobby, I'd definitely recommend this set. If you are doing this professionally as a tile layer or something, this will work, but might wear out faster than other sets. It also only has a solid cutting surface, no reliefs, and for my handheld approach it worked, but the final hole was somewhat irregular. That is no problem at all for my use case, but something to think about.
