Review: WORTH THE XTRA MONEY - I NEVER sharpen my chains. I simply found it easier and TIME-SAVING to R&R with a new chain when they dull or get sap coated. So NEEDLESS TO SAY... I have 'some' experience with this exact 14in Oregon chain. What I will share that MIGHT BE OF VALUE to others is that FOR SOME UNKNOWN, UNDISCLOSED OR WHATEVER POSSIBLE REASON these more-expensive SINGLE CHAIN PKGS...are USA-MADE CHAINS...at least according to pkg labeling and thus we never TRULY know for SURE, do we? I mention this because after only a few purchases buying the so-called Oregon 'MULTI-PACK' version in both TWO-PACK plastic plackaing AND the "oregon' 3-pk version [ that comes in a small box] ALL THE 2, and 3-PK chains ARE ALL MADE IN CHINA. I never paid attn or CARED about that actually, until after my 2nd or 3rd purchase of the multi-pack oregon chinese sets. CUTTING THE SAME LOGS, same day, tmep and condition of log put on a NEW chiense=made chain and IMMEDIALTEY noticed the difference. FACT [ from MY 'EXPERIECNE and MULTIPLE PURCHASES} the more-expesive single pack USA-MADE CHAINS ARE SHARPER OUTA THE PKG and ALSO SEEM TO HOLD AND EDGE AND BITE FAR LONGER UNDER IDENTICAL CONDITIONS and SAME LOG /TREE than do the CHAIiwanese 'Oregon' chains. I'm NOT DISPARAGIN' OR CASTING ASPERSIONS >>> thats JUST A FACT from my direct experience. QUESTION IS: IS this a 'RETAILER " issue or otherwise intentional MISBRANDING and repacking of inferior chains or WHAT? EVERY MULTIPAK of 'OREGON' chains i ever received form AMzn are made in chine. Single packs are USA. SO FOR ME... PAYING THE XTRA FEW $$ PER CHAIN BUYING AS THIS SINGLE PACK IS WORTH IT IN TIME SAVINGS alone sine the USA chAins CUTS FAST AND LASTS LONGER. I have determined that I need 3 of the new outta box chienese chains to equal not quite TWO of usa chains. I WISH THERE WAS AN OPTION or MEANS to click a box FOR BUYING A BULK PKG DEAL of these single-packaged chains [ to get better deal ] BUT STILL RECEIVE THE USA-MADE CHAINS. I MAY decide to have my local STIL /ECHO DLR who also sells Oregon chain in biulk just MAKE ME A DOZEN chains at a time form his MOnster USA-MADE BULK ROLL of chain. HAppy to provide anyone curious my actual photos of my chains/purchases for verification. ONE THIGN I CAN NOT yet ATTEST TO: WILL THE CHINESE MADE CHAINS SHARPEN And perhaps at least HOLD AND EDGE EQUAL TO A RESHARPENED USA-MADE CHAIN... OR WILL THIS PROVE the mulkti-pack chuiense chains BRANDED as Oregon chain USE INFERIOR STEEL with different hardness levels. WIthout ACTUAL and PROPER PROF RIckwell tesing numbers on new Chinese and USA-MADE CHAINS... its a CRAP SHOOT. JUST BUY THE USA_MADE CHAIN OR YOU"ll be wasting MORE TIME in SHARPENING MODE rather than a WORKING_MAN MODE or worse just WASTING MONEY and simply TOSS OUT THE CHINESE CHAINS. ONE AND DONE IS WHAT DO WITH THEM.. and even THEN.. time was wasted repalcing TWO chienese chains for every ONE usa-made oregon chain. SORRY FOR RAMBLING.. jst dont want folks making MY MISTAKE buying the multi-pack andfinding out the hard way and money down drain. FOR INSTRUCTIONAL and FULL CLARITY PURPOSES: I run all these oregon chains on the mini budget model 20v DEwalt chainsaw which i had upgraded from oe factory 12in bar to the 14 OREGON BAR after reading several other people's reviews, advice.and recommendation to do so THX GUYS! not paying attnEVERY while the WILL

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will it fit Poulan PLN1514 electric chain saw?**
A: No it will not. That's the same chain saw I own. What you need is the Oregon S49. The number on the package corresponds to the number of chain links and the PLN1514 has 49. I hope this has been helpful to you. You can follow this link or copy and paste. http://www.amazon.com/Oregon-14-Inch-McCulloch-Remington-S49/dp/B00004RA87/ref=sr_1_1?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1412270180&sr=1-1&keywords=oregon+s49+chain

**Q: I have a ut 43102/14 Homelite electric chain saw. replacement chain says 52 3/8 L.P. Believe this is the chain i want! Is It?**
A: Yes Patrick but to be on the safe, here's a trick I learned that's fool proof. All you do is count the small cutting blades on your old chain and that would be the chain number you need, ie: S49, S50, S52. I tell you this because I have a Poulan Pro and I was told that I needed a S52 but it turned out too long and I ended up going through all the trouble of returning it. So I went to the local hardware store and a very helpful employee just counted the links on my old one and it came out to 49 so he said I needed an S49 and voila! it worked perfectly. I hope this info helps but of course if you don't have the old chain available then we would have to assume that the 52 stands for 52 cutting links.

**Q: Will it replace craftmans part # 71-3617 for an old Craftman 14" electric chain saw**
A: Yes.......it will fit all 14-inch saws........the quality is very good. Depending on where you live and how much you use your saw, you might consider buying two replacements. I typically use mine for many different jobs around the yard. If you have the availability of having the original chain sharpened, the cost is usually about $5 or $6. I have three chains so if I am in the middle of a large diameter tree, I can usually finish the job faster by having a quick replacement. I have cut trunks 24 inches in diameter....a sharp chain is essential!

**Q: What is the meaning of "S52" and "S49" on the chain replacement?**
A: Not certain but I believe it has to do with the spacing of the teeth on the wheel at the end of the bar. I have two 14-inch bars for my chainsaw, one that fits s49 and the other s52. Always better to have a choice you know.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fit my 14” Poulan electric chain saw like a glove...
*by J***S on April 1, 2021*

So, I can only compare this to the used chain that came with my used chainsaw I had already. I bought my chainsaw from a dude on FB marketplace for $5. He didn’t know what was wrong with it other than the chain was super loose. I figured for $5 it was worth a gamble. Turns out it was literally just the 2 bolts on the chain guide that needed to be tightened (and some chain oil, but that’s to be expected) I used that chain to cut up several small pieces. It worked, but it was always super slow going. I broke down and bought this replacement chain for $11~ and put it on. On my Poulan electric it was a very simple process. One I installed it and added some more oil, it cut though a downed tree in no time. I highly recommend this chain if you are needing a replacement. I know I could have manually sharpened the chain, but this was a 5 minute fix for a total investment of $16~ to have a nice running chain saw. It was worth the extra $11~ for me. Your mileage may vary.
