For the boxing part I prefer a lightweight glove like this over an overly padded boxing mitt which can roll your wrist. I went looking for these after the Everlast speed bag gloves I was using wore out and the newer ones were not of the same quality. With these I get good solid contact with the bag which provides a much better workout than a traditional boxing glove. These were pretty affordable but have quality stitching. My routine involves around 2,000 bag strikes per hand, and these have held up for over a year with no issues. You get some protection, but you can also feel your knuckle alignment when you strike. The grip bar is foam and that's fine for me. The stitching is well done.
