He's able to grip it easily, and the screen protector works well with the Fire HD screen. The color matches the photos, and looks really sharp.The Fire HD 6 fits very snugly into the case. It comes with a plastic screen protector - low grade, but good for the price. The package has a link to an installation video on youtube - the video actually has directions for an iPad, but it was simple enough to extrapolate. But once you get a corner free, it's all good.There is plastic wrap on the inside and outside of the screen - make sure you pull both off. I also recommend you make sure your Kindle screen is very, very clean before you pop it in; pulling this case apart is not something you want to do daily. Again, make sure you slide the kindle in correctly - you really want the ports, camera lenses, and speakers to line up, right? Push the backing in - use a little muscle there, don't be shy - and you are done.It works great. The screen is still plenty sensitive to touch and the quality of the protective screen is high - I really don't see much if any image degradation, though I would have to do a side-by-side to be sure. The case is not bulky or cumbersome in the least. The cameras work perfectly and the speaker grill does the job. The ports next to the power switch permit access for the usb charger and jack for earbuds or headphones.This wasn't an expensive purchase and definitely adds some peace of mind. It came with no installation instructions nor could I find any online. My son ruined it assuming the plastic cover was packing material. So, how to open it. Obviously the other folks who bought this did, but it isn't at all clear. The screen cover is also rather stiff and brittle. Even if I figure out how to open it, I'm done with this product.
