This was the best thing I've bought for my pressure washer to date! It was fairly easy to install, it took about 4 hours from start to finish, including taking the old pull start off. Afterwards I have had no problems with it. It starts every time I turn it over. It's wonderful, I love it! Pull starting the thing was so hard to do it would jerk out of my hand so hard it left bruises up my arm, I broke the rope and the handle 6 times, it was awful but those days are over with now. Thank you so much for having this product here and at a low cost that I could afford it. It really was the best thing I've ever bought for my pressure washer!Because of this I'm now adding a remote start for it so I can save even more time on jobs. The remote start I bought cost me 15 bucks and has a security alarm on it, so if it's turned off and someone try to take it the alarm will sound. What a wonderful thing to have!!Thank you!!!!!Sarah

It's amazing that this product comes with no instructions... you can write to the company and get a partial set. But given that you might need to (in my case) bore out a 2.5" opening in the aluminum wing of the engine block to get this unit to fit, it's an odd choice by the manufacturer. Actually I bet it's just a collection of off-the-shelf aftermarket parts, rather than a kit that was designed from scratch. The company will provide you (if you ask) with some instructions/photos of the wiring process, which another customer kindly provided. They basically work.I skipped the stator/charger element, opting instead for a cheap trickle charger that's left plugged into utility power. That seems a much better solution if you're using this on a backup generator.Having said all that, once installed, this is a great product. I put one in for my 80-year old neighbor who's going through dialysis; it helps him during power outages without having to pull a heavy generator start cord.

I have not installed the kit as yet, but it looks complete. It will take a special sized cutting tool to cut open the hole for the starter to be inserted. Have not removed the old flywheel, (needed to get some long metric bolts to use with my wheel puller to remove the flywheel) so I do not know if I will need to tap holes for the alternator magnetic pickup as yet. Note, all metric bolts are needed to install everything so may need a metric tap for the mounting of the alternator.

The product looks really nice. They need to place installation instructions with product. Was very difficult to figure where parts should be installed and how wiring of electrical system should be.

This was perfect for my wife. I installed this on my generator she thought it was great so she demanded one for her leaf shredder for her composting. She is very petite and has a lot of trouble starting her 13 HP leaf shredder, so I installed one on that as well.One problem, NO INSTRUCTIONS!!! It would have gotten 5 stars if not for that.I have a strong mechanical background so it was not to much for me, but for a novice they might have some trouble. The big thing was boring a hole for the starter itself. The minor things where taping threads in the holes.

Product seems to have everything needed. I wasn’t able to try it right away but when I had a chance I removed the flywheel cover and prepared to install it. The holes were the first clue. They didn’t line up. Then I noticed the shape of the block was off too. I knew I’d have to knock out the hole for the starter but even if I did, there was no easy way to modify the block to accept the starter and make it line up with the flywheel. If this works with a Honda GX390 it’s a different model than mine. This add needs more information. A lot more.

I bought this to install on a second gen gx390. Had to cut out and enlarge where the starter goes. It wasn’t hard. Took a while, but it was pretty straight forward.
