Addictive
It is not like any other books which dumps the information .It is addictive in nature by interacting with reader by appealing to emotion &humour .Pros1.Paper Quality and highlighting imp ones with Bold Letters and diff ink is used2.Pictures of prominent leaders to the right side of page to make reader connect with the leader3.Topics are divided in a Webseries fashion (I mean connectivity)4.Related Previous year questions and practice questions (Both prelims and mains) at some parts even history optional ques were imbibed5.prelims capsule at the end of "some" topics for easy revision6. ADDICTIVE i could say leastCons1.100-150 rs extra than other books ( But its more than worth considering Mcgraw hill publications)

Good Book--Nice Page Quality--Poor Binding
*The book is prepared keeping in mind the trends and level of UPSC exam.*The contents of the books is of level of UPSC exam. MCQs for practice have been given after each chapter which helps us to grasp the concepts completely.*Paper quality is very nice. Fonts come in bi-color (Black and Red). important points are marked with red fonts which helps us retain information easily.*Prelims Capsules have been given after the end of chapter to help revise the chapter and remember bullet points.*Binding could have been batter. Book is tearing apart after 5 days of use(Would have given 5 stars if binding were batter)

A must book for UPSC GS
This book sets apart all the rest available in the market. Interms of1) language2) presentation3) colourful photographs and pictures4) territories of kings(in maps).Features:1) Way ahead of spectrum in providing information in crisp manner for quick revision.Every chapter is followed by a prelims capsule which contains the gist of the whole chapter, which makes it easy to remember key words, battles, important events, personalities etc..2) Many key words are highlighted to draw attention.3) Special corner for details on personalities with their photograph( ofcourse you dont need it but it helps).4) Previous year prelim cum model questions and answers at the end of every chapter.5) Previous year mains questions (no answers).Drawbacks:1) Book is bulky (but it is easy to understand).2) Huge Information, difficult to remember (It's everybody's problem, you've to revise again and again).3) High price ( but friend, cost to benefit ratio is very good).Very less people take their precious time to write thisbig review. But I sensed their hard work in compiling this and thought I become a helping hand.Thank you..

Nothing better than this for UPSC Pre and Mains
Way more than sufficient for Prelim and also adequate for Mains. Not sure for optional- but definitely it will give and edge over. Since this is the first edition there are some miniscual error which is obvious silly and easily avoidable. If u have to choose between Spectrum and this book then please go for this. There are many interesting and new facts that you will come across in this book which might be a prospective questions in our Prelims. Also in-depth analysis in simple language make it very effective tool to concur Mains.I personally don’t like boring text and just plain outlay of book like in spectrum as it don’t look expensive and eye catching.Though this book is a bit dearer but it’s every penny worth it.As we all saying-“It’s gonna be the Laxmikant of Modern Indian History”

Fantastic Book But Got A Tampered Copy
First, I'll write about the book of course. This is an absolutely fantastic book for Modern History. Much better than Spectrum Publication's one. Detailed and pointwise. (5 Star only for the book)It has 8 Units followed by 3 Appendices and Prev. Year's Prelim and Mains questions. (Contents Attached)But, as you can see in the photos, the copy I've got is manhandled and tampered. Though the front side is okay, but most of the pages at the end is pathetic. Seems like the courier service is not at all in mood to deliver this product. By paying ₹623/- no one expects a tampered copy.(ZERO Star for the seller / delivery partner)Gonna return this ASAP.

Comprehensive and well-structured
This is a comprehensive and well-structured textbook on modern Indian history. The language is lucid and in-depth analysis is provided to get a thorough grip on the subject. Plenty of highlighted facts and events are given and the whole syllabus is broken down into smaller chapters. Though you still cannot discard books like Spectrum's, but considering the organized look of this book, this is slightly better than the Spectrum's ("look"-wise, not content-wise). Previous years' questions are provided at the end of related chapters. Overall, this is a complete book for mastering Indian modern history. Having said that, Spectrum is still the time-tested holy grail of Modern Indian history. Choose any one between the two. Any ONE, please. You know why.
