## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is there a subscription offer with purchase?**
A: Yes! Sign up for Roku’s Smart Home Subscription single camera monthly plan after purchase and get 3 months on us. It includes 14-day cloud storage for video plus smart detection that discerns whether that motion alert was a person or package.

**Q: How do you power an outdoor wireless security camera?**
A: Roku Outdoor Camera is battery-powered & holds up to 6 months of charge. When it runs out of power, you’ll have to charge it with the included adaptor & USB charging cable. Or pair with the Roku Solar Panel to keep your camera juiced up all the time.

**Q: Can wireless cameras work without internet?**
A: A Wi-Fi connection is needed to operate all Roku Smart Home devices. Roku Smart Home devices operate on a 2.4GHz network, so if you have both a 5GHz and 2.4GHz connection, make sure to connect to your 2.4GHz network during setup.

**Q: What’s the difference between surveillance cameras and security cameras?**
A: Surveillance cameras watch and record, but do not provide alerts. Security cameras, like all Roku cameras, go a step further to keep your home safe and secure—their sensors alert you to motion or sound and allow you to take real-time action.

**Q: Are security cameras worth it?**
A: Home security is more important than ever. Indoor and outdoor security cameras can give you great peace of mind when you’re away. You can also easily monitor playtime, see when family members come and go, and keep tabs on your cat.
