It's light enough to hual around for a little with minimal effort but it is heavy enough to feel well made, and it is. I was a bit hesitant on buying it due to the cost but comparing that to the cost of what it's protecting, it's worth it. Or can I just set my rifle in it and shut it.** A: No plucking. Just put your rifle in it. The foam is in layers. If your rifle is thick you can take our a layer so it doesn't fit too tight. **Q: Will this case fit a 40 inch browning BLR with a scope?** A: I have a scoped (50mm diameter) Ruger Hawkeye LTR (about 47 inches overall length) and it fits in the case comfortably.
