Beautiful starter for novices.

Well I'm a newbie at boat building and since this is my first attempt I'm totally satisfied. Instructions are a bit fuzzy because English isn't the first language of builder but the planes are complete and reading books and seeing how others figured it out Its going well. As some authors keep saying go slow don't rush and its coming along fine. As with any any kit I've built (guitar, amp) most everything is there do to mistakes short a couple of pieces but easily obtained on line. Besides need to start a collection of surplus stuff for other boats I'm planing on buying.

Fun, challenging and well made kit. Not for the novice!

My father got me this because I was interested in building a model boat and it was billed as a simple begginer's model. After i gave up with it he built it, but it took weeks of frustration and adjustments. Not only are the pieces poorly fabricated, (they do not fit together as designed) but the directions are incredibly vague and in some cases incorrect. There is very little text in the directions and diciphering what they are trying to say is like a game of spot the difference. You must be very carerful trusting the measurements provided as well because many are much shorter than they should be. And after all of that the rigging is completely innacurate and would not allow the boat to sail.Basically if you want a beginner model but something else, and if you want a more difficult model you should get one that is accurate.
