Significantly above-average nutrition senior food.
Weruva has been making excellent cat and dog food for years. It enjoys a very high rating on CatFoodDB. This is a new product for senior cats.In this case, the primary ingredient is chicken, which is recognized as a high-quality protein source. It does not include by-products or bulk-adding fillers like corn among its ingredients. By-products (slaughterhouse waste) are generally regarded as lower quality ingredients, and common fillers used to increase the product's volume are not necessary in your cat's diet, like that found in typical grocery store fare, Science Diet, Royal Canin and others. There are no known allergens in this food. However, it does use Xantham gum as a thickener, which is arguably better than cheap Guar gum that can cause GI irritation, a common issue in older cats.My cat took one sniff and all but inhaled the food. I call that a success.Deserving of my rarely awarded 5 stars.⭐️1 star — I don't recommend it at all, poor quality.⭐️⭐️ 2 stars — I don't recommend it: has multiple faults, or a very high price.⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 stars — It's passable: it has some faults, but the quality is ok for what it is.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 stars — Product quite acceptable, and it does what it promises.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars — Product that I totally recommend.

Our two seniors showed immediate interest, ate everything, and didn’t have any digestive issues.
We have two senior cats (13 ½ and 12) that are both in good health. I ordered this Senior formula because it’s from a well-regarded brand, I liked that the first three ingredients were chicken, chicken broth, and pumpkin (our youngest loves the occasional spoonful of pure pumpkin puree), and that carrageenan isn’t an ingredient, since we choose to avoid. This food is also grain-free, which I see as a plus. Our cats have eaten food with inulin and green lipped mussel before, without any issues, and I like that they may provide digestive and joint benefits. Both cats showed immediate interest in this food, have happily eaten every bite (our oldest went for this food over his usual beloved wet every time I’ve watched), and haven’t had any digestive issues over the ten days we’ve been feeding it to them. We started very slowly (I’ve learned to go really slow at first with our oldest) but have ramped it up so that it’s now half of their usual wet food, so for us this formula is an obvious winner. The twelve 3 oz cans I received in May 2025 were all stamped “BEST BY JAN 2028”. “Product of Thailand”.

Terrific food
This is a 12 pack of 3 oz pop top cans of senior chicken formula in gravy cat food, from Weruva. It arrived in perfect condition and factory sealed. This is the shredded chicken version of Weruva's Senior cat food line, and it is an outstanding food. The ingredients in this food are as close to what I consider perfect as I've ever seen in a cat food, without all the unnecessary stuff that most cat foods have. It looks and smells like food, not like cat food. Although most of my cats will only eat pate, my senior guy who gets this food absolutely loves it and gets very excited about dinner time. I also love that Weruva is a great company that supports lots of animal welfare causes.

Weruva Senior Cat Shredded Chicken Food
My 14 year old cat devoured this food! I gave her half of a can for dinner and she'll get the other half at breakfast, so I am able to get two meals out of one can. She didn't even hesitate with this food! She ate it all so fast. The chicken is shredded and the pumpkin is visible. It looks just like the picture posted in their listing. I also have a one year old who gets similar shredded chicken from a different brand, and I feel like my senior cat has been jealous of her getting real-looking food. Now she's happy as a clam to have food like her little sister's.The can was very easy to open and it didn't make a mess everywhere like her previous containers did. I don't notice any unpleasant smells either. The portions are a great size and I love that this is made specifically for seniors cats. I'll definitely be buying more and making this her go-to brand!

cat loves!
We were excited to try this as we love weruvas reputation and ingredients and our cat has been a big fan of shreds in gravy for a while now. She really loves this one! We appreciate that it has pumpkin as well since she's developed some digestive issues in her old age (she's 15) and loves pumpkin in foods but won't touch pumpkin supplements. I do wish there were bigger cans of the senior wet foods, as it does take us 3 cans to feed her since she doesn't eat too much of her dry food these days. My cat would recommend it!

19 Yr. Old Kitty Approves!
My old granny fluff ball is 19 (she was the runt of the litter and they say they don't do well….pfft) and still rockin’! She can actually still eat hard food but because she's so old, I like to spoil her with foods meant for old lady kitties as they are probably more nutrient rich. I had never heard of this brand but figured…why not try something new.I was really surprised when opening this can. It almost looks edible unlike 95% of other canned cat foods that look like mush. Yuck. This looks like real shredded chicken in a light gravy. Then there's little pieces of whole veggies too!I have it to my sweet little lady and she didn't hesitate to scarf it down! She may be old and a little fragile, but she eats like a champ when she finds something she likes! Love that for her! Love this food too!

She didn't like the carrots
My senior cat gave me a confused look when I swapped out her usual for this, and attempted a bit of a hunger strike. A few hours later, though, her bowl was empty... all except for a little pile of carrots shoved off to the side, lol! I'm glad she found the chicken and gravy tolerable. We'll have to work on introducing this further to her diet.
