It's about the flavor you'd expect if Monster Energy made a strawberry lemonade or blue raspberry flavor....not something you'd drink for fun, but if you can handle Monster, this will taste fine. As for effectiveness, I bought both Lean and Stim-Free, and both of them make an immediate and noticeable difference. I can't yet comment on long term gains, but what I can say is: After taking Lean for just a week, I added two reps for both pull-ups and bench press, and that's after being stuck on a plateau for bench for the past few weeks. I was also massively more energetic during my initial warmup. I also took Stim-Free before a morning jog. I noticed a clear tingling sensation in my face and chest, which is one of the potential side effects associated with greater bloodflow. I'm not a very good runner and usually get lactic acid pain pretty quickly, but during this run, there was no lactic acid at all, which is one of the main benefits that Stim-Free claims. On the lifting side, I think the main benefit for lifting was honestly the caffeine (plus taking creatine, which is not in this supplement). If you're only lifting and not running, consider saving some money by just trying some caffeine + theanine pills. I also tried a DIY approach to further save money: on desertcart, I bought generic citrulline malate and beta alanine powders, along with caffeine pills and some flavor powder. I can happily report that the DIY preworkout works just as well as this product but for less than half the price!
