Works exactly as you'd expect it should
Having tried a few different options this shelf works as expected. It holds a reasonable amount of weight as I tested it at home prior to use. I left a full bottle of water in the cup holder, a few decks of playing cards stacked on the edge of the shelf, a mic in the holder and a guitar pedal (simple reverb pedal, maybe 6-8oz) in the center over night. Nothing moved the next day (actually late afternoon, forgot to check earlier).Be sure to tighten the clamp well and make a habit of checking before each use like any other gear setup.I'm writing this to help out other musicians in need of a quick effective solution that just works and is fairly priced.

Works well for smaller items
I will be using this tray for lashing Supplies. This is a nice addition to my Station. In order to assemble, I suggest placing the phone holder on first Then place the nut Over the arm of the phone holder snapped The phone holder over the knob and tighten the nut. There are no directions.

Plastic tray not metal
That's about the only thing that threw me off. I opened it it was all plastic. I am hesitant about putting a certain amount of weight on it. Otherwise, does its job....
