Vestax PBS-4 Personal Live Web Broadcasting Audio & Video Mixer‎

Very nice product, easy to set up and easy to implement. Worked right out of the box on my Mac, and I was set up and ready to go in 10 minutes. Everything was intuitive and easy to follow, and my computer instantly connected to the device.Problem for me was that I bought it for the HDMI input and did not realize that it downsamples the HDMI feed from 10880p to medium resolution (about 480, I think). I was looking to use it for a high def Internet live stream from my Canon digital camera, and the image ended up just B+ with the lower resolution. Not a bad image, but not the HD I was looking for.If you want something simple and plug and play that works with multiple cameras (old and new) and multiple audio inputs (XLR, RCA and 1/4"), this is the ticket. If you are recording or broadcasting a live concert or radio show, you will LOVE it.But if you need a 720p image stream or higher, you'll need to go with a high-quality firewire camera that goes directly into the computer or an HDMI stream converter, like the Blackmagic products.

So far we have found this item to work very well for our streaming purposes - with one exception. The video that comes out from the PC input is not good. It has vertical tearing like you used to get with older tube tv's and you had to adjust with the vert/horiz control knobs. Other than that, it works great. If you are streaming, the video transitions are not bad. If you are recording it directly to video, you get a jump between switching. That is because there is no sync control in this device. If you are looking for something to use for low-budget streaming, this will work fine. We have only used it on UStream, do not know how it works with other programs. If you don't have a large enough audience to justify spending thousands of dollars on video streaming equipment, this is a good choice. ***Note*** It shipped with a notice telling me that I would need to buy a power converter. That was not the case. It is shipped with the proper power cord for U.S. use.

After two days of test. It is only being found by a new computer ( Windows 8 ) on occasion. I have several programs such as concert windows broadcaster, and Pinnacle studio that do not recognize it in the drop down windows. So far, does not serve what it was purchased for. Also having similar problems with other devices like this such a Black Magic intensity shuttle. Hopefully can solve some of these problems. I HAVE SOLVED SOME OF THE PROBLEMS WITH INSTALLATION. IT IS NOW WORKING AS A VIDEO SWITCHER. I HAVE IT WORKING ON A LAPTOP AND IT DOES A GOOD JOB OF SWITCHING VIDEO INPUTS ( RCA, HDMI, VGA ). STILL HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE AUDIO, SO I AM USING A SEPARATE AUDIO MIXER. HOPE TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM SOON.

I recently got the vestax, does not work as advertised "simple solution" I have two days trying to make it work, no success at all, I have tried on U stream producer, wirecast, skype and a flash based web cinferencing platform, even though all of them identify the PBS 4, as a video source, after selecting it, there is no video. I sent an email today to support attachied a screenshot of U stream producer showing a blue screen on the video show, I got an answer from customer support today asking "Did you download and install the ustream producer application" come on! Look at the screnshot.I am a believer that customer service can make great products, I want to believe this for PBS since is an innovative solution, I hope to make it work properly, will go back to you later.

The product the not work, software did not work properly and the HDMI did not work also, but the seller customer service is an A plus, responded very fast, and refunded the money with no problem

It's not HD and it did not claim to be. It does exactly what it says it will,that is allowing you to use more than one camera in SD.

do what it is suppose to do....poor video quality because it is not high definition

Watch yourself with this item. I bought one as new but when I received it, there were no instructions, no original software drivers (they sent an incomplete homemade dvd copy), and there was no power supply.The manufacture of this product is no longer in business, so do not expect any support.I would not recommend buying it.
