Fantastic Doorbell Camera at a Great Price
Having moved over from a BotLab Doorbell, I can confidently say the Tapo Wireless Doorbell is not only far cheaper but performs much better. The connection is more stable, and since I already have several Tapo devices, sticking to a single ecosystem made a lot of sense. The Positives:Value for Money: At this price, it’s an absolute steal. It delivers high-quality features without the hefty price tag of some other brands.Performance: The connection is solid—no dropouts or delays like I had with my old doorbell.Ecosystem Integration: If you’re already in the Tapo ecosystem, this fits in seamlessly. Managing all devices in one app is incredibly convenient.Video Quality: The 2K resolution is excellent, and the full-colour night vision is a real game-changer for spotting late-night visitors.Ease of Use: Setup was straightforward, and it works perfectly with Alexa.Weatherproofing: Living in the UK, the IP65 rating is appreciated—it’s handled rain without a hitch. The Bottom Line:If you’re after a reliable, feature-packed video doorbell at a reasonable price, this is a no-brainer. It’s a solid performer, integrates beautifully into the Tapo ecosystem, and offers excellent value.

One of cost better than a subscription model.
Bought this to replace our Ring doorbell. I did not want to pay for the subscription as one year subscription was enough to buy one of these with a memory card. There is an option for a subscription with this model but not needed. This functions the exact same way a Ring doorbell does. Setup was pretty straightforward and takes a bit of time getting used to the different UI on the app for it.Video quality is great and stores the videos with easy access to them. However there is one drawback that does effect me, that is worth noting. The camera is at the front of our house and faces onto a road (also shrubs and trees in view too.)The camera is very sensitive to pick up any motion. This dramatically shortens the life of the battery and we're having to charge quite often. Way more than the Ring doorbell. We tried reducing the motion zones to practically nothing which did not help with the battery life either. In the end we had to turn off the motion setting and only notify when the doorbell is pressed.Which to be fair in 99% of cases is what we need it for. It's well worth the price but there is a notable difference between this and Ring. It's a one off cost which is far better than an unnecessary subscription needed with Ring products.

Easy set up of video doorbell and can use micro sd card.
What a great bit of kit! It is so easy to set up and with the availability to add a micro sd card no subscription charges, although that option is available if you would prefer. I've only just installed this, but so far so good. Great value for money, brilliant picture quality, good motion detection. I can't comment on battery life as just installed.

Better than a Ring doorbell.
Why did you choose this product over others?:Bought this for my sister, and it's better than my Ring doorbell. Clearer picture, especially in low light. And no subscription.

Lots to like, but three critical flaws two of which cannot be overlooked
Owned this for over ten days now.Three Stars, let down by the battery and design securityTHE BADBATTERY did not even come close the the 180days of battery.Day one, I lost 10%, but after tweaking turning most functions off to low, I am running around 3 to 4% battery usage per day, with my solar panel grabbing less 1% to top it up.At the bottom is a silicone slot which reveals the Type C charging port, c to c or a to c is fine.... BUT Charging times are incredibly slow, 10 minutes gets you 1%, one hour 6% maybe 7% and I have topped up four times 10% each time. Nonsense as you will have to recharge this in a three weeks to a month with my limited usage.Next to the charging slot is the micro SD slot placeement has to be ONE of THREE stupid engineering designs, literally only held in place by a single screw. That is it, a tiny screw visible to the naked eye is the only thing to stop it from being stolen. But the worst thing, is the pin required to poke to remove this from its mounting plate. Not a special pin, a paperclip will do it. poke out comes the whole door bell.As of today, the app cannot delete footage from the micro sd card, but you can from the cloud function. Quite mind numingly stupid feature to withhold! No Rich NotficationsNo free cloud storage AT ALL.THE GOODI contacted support about the battery drain, they said based on my stats this was normal.. which would mean it will need recharging within a two to three week time period without making drastic adjustments.Build, I don't mind the design, it uses standard lithium batteries, non removeableFootage quality is good, but you can either have 2k or 360p, no inbetween.App is respectable and detailed.Connected to my 2.5/5ghz wifi with ease.Has been responsive.WOULD I RECOMMEND IT?Right now it is on sale at 45pounds.IF you can secure the top and the bottom, easily then it is worth considering. The battery life is questionable, if you use it as just a doorbell then, YESIf you plan on using any of the other features like person detection, then your likely going to have to charge it up if you have averagley busy household. My settings are, wake up 6, person detection 6. I had 69 wake up times, 21 of those were recorded, 49 were false alerts, 17 minutes of usage, battery useage was 4% as I gained 0.6% from my solar panel.
