## Description

Since their initial introduction, Cold Steel's Emperor Series swords have proven to be popular with many of our customers. Still, we are aware that there are some people who want a battle ready sword but hope to find one at a more affordable price. Our Warrior Series addresses this problem directly. The Warrior Series swords share the same high-performance 1060 steel, heat treatment, and sharpness as their Emperor counterparts, but we have omitted their expensive mirror polishing in favor of a more practical finish. This makes the Warrior Series a perfect choice for training and perfecting cutting techniques (Tameshigiri) without damaging or tarnishing the blade.

Review: Requires strength not height or necessarily size. - It's nice and worth the value. Don't pay attention to any dumbos here that mention height, as in if you are shorter it's too much blade for you!! It's not height that's matters at all its strength specifically wrist and arm. Last I checked the guys winning arm wrestling contests weren't all 6'5". Anyway it is cool but very heavy so I think it's great for training and I was a pro trainer focusing on size and strength so if you buy this you better start working your hand strength and I mean all your digits as well and full forearms. But you'll need strength everywhere. I would add the exact weight if I knew it. Comes sharp not extra sharp, and much less than razor which is not needed for a sword extra would be nice though but I bought knowing this. Sure if you are that Battista guy from Guardians of the Galaxy probably you're all set with all the strength reqs. But one of those bony actors that are 6 ft will insure themselves for sure playing with this sword. I'm happy with it.
Review: Serious quality control concerns. - Let me start by saying I bought this sword with the intention of changing out a lot of the parts to customize it, so its basic construction wasn't of particular concern to me. That said, I will review the build for people who are concerned with the basic model. The good: -The blade is straight and strong, and I'm sure it'll hold a fine edge once I've polished it. The curve and grind are great. (This model does not come polished. It's meant to be a budget option, and I intended to polish it myself.) The Bad: -The sword is definitely budget quality. It will cut, but it's not $500 worth of sharp. -The tsuka ito (handle wrapping) started to slip and the diamond folds began to expand and separate after swinging it a single time, so you'll need to take great care not to tear it apart just by using it. The Ugly: I noticed the handle was bulging once I started to deconstruct it, and found that under the ray skin there's a gnarly crack. I figured I would just glue it together, but it went straight through to the tang. THIS IS UNSALVIGABLE. I'm going to have to replace the unusually long 12" tsuka entirely. I suspect this would be a catastrophic defect for anyone who isn't ready to fix it, or even identify it. !!!It might even be unsafe considering this is supposed to be a fully functional sword!!! There are things I like, but mostly because all I really care about is the sword blank and the sheath, but I cannot recommend the purchase. For the price you're better off buying something else.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: is it very sharp**
A: No, the answer is 100% NO, it comes "sharp" but you asked "very sharp" which it 100% is not very sharp. I could write a paragraph about this topic, stay away from anyone that tells you, "duh, well, umm, it's not razor sharp." if to them sharp is razor like one level they are not who you should be taking advice from there are arguably 3 to 5 levels of sharpness/honed starting from "sharp", I'm not including dull or less than sharp, this is sharp, very sharp would be the next level, razor sharp which applies to razor would be one or two level past sword "very sharp". Sorry I don't have the link handy that explains this very well, there was a Ken Onion documented piece on this not pertaining to swords though but to knives which, when speaking of sharpness is similar.I own it by the way, it's fricken long and heavy as hell but last I checked I'm not dueling Tom Cruise tomorrow with his light agile sword so I like it long and heavy, great practice.

**Q: So cold steel was made in china too?**
A: India I believe.

**Q: does it have an O kissaki**
A: Not as large as most

**Q: what type steel is used?**
A: The Cold Steel website states that it is 1060.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Heavy, definitely definitely for a more muscular person
*by K***D on October 1, 2024*

Very amazing sword, love the quality of it, but it’s very heavy and definitely requires a lot more muscle to swing it and keep control of it but very well built before its price very sharp and is a longer version of it so it’s an amazing sword
