Love this cookbook. Even bought one for a gift for my brother in law!

Almost (my errors) all recipes are amazing. Best Italian cookbook I ever had, This is my 2nd one, my old one pretty much fell apart. I never hesitate to recommend it.

You won't find Pumpkin Ravioli with Nutmeg Cream Sauce and Candied Pecans in this recipe book. This is a real Italian recipe book.I love this recipe book. To be honest I am an obsessed cookbook collector, and because I have so many I tend to never focus a lot on one of them. Carmine's is different.I use this book every week. Some of the recipes have become so common in our household that I don't even need the recipe book anymore, ingredients and measurements are now memorized. The recipes are classic and oh so delicious. I love the fact that it also has a bunch of wonderful Italian sandwiches in it. We recently had a family picnic and I made and packed Hot Italian Combo Heroes. They were as popular as the fried chicken and hamburgers.This is the one recipe book that I have in which I can say I've made almost every recipe in the book. The only ones I've skipped are the ones that have ingredients that my family doesn't like. Calamari and lamb, for instance. I couldn't force squid or lamb on them to save my life, though.... I've thought about trying by way of a Carmine's recipe!If you love Classic Italian dishes and you're not looking for fuss, try this recipe book. You'll love it.

Having grown up in NY my whole life, been to Carmine’s 100’s of times. It’s true it’s touristy and very loud but they legit make some of the best Italian food in NY. Best Sunday gravy, the rigatoni country style, the Caesar salad and the tiramisu are some of the best ever but I agree I have followed the recipes exactly and I’m a good cook, and something is always off from the restaurant version. I think their are either secret ingredients they specifically leave out or when the recipe is paired back to home style not restaurant portions something is off with the recipes. Still a great cookbook and the recipes come out great etc. but def think something is left out of the recipes that kicks it up at the restaurant vs the home version recipes provided. Just saying :-) Still a great book and a good read or souvenir from the restaurant to have.

I love the recipes in this cookbook. They are reminiscent of some I’ve had over the years with my Italian family and in good Italian restaurants. The book was received quickly and as described.

I made Veal Marsala and Broccoli Rabe for dinner last night using the recipes out of this great cookbook. My husband said it was one of top five dinners I’ve ever made and made him feel we were in NYC eating dinner. We live in FL. Tonight is seafood night. Can’t wait to try another recipe. Awesome cookbook, easy directions and pics are amazing!!

I don’t believe these recipes are the ones they serve in the actual restaurant which I’ve been to, many times and love! The infamous baked clams for one are NOTHING like the restaurant’s….disappointing.

After a number of visits to Carmine's in the theatre district where we are anxious to see a show be over to get to the restaurant, and then again in Atlantic City where the gamining tables became secondary to the what awaited us foodies, I ordered this "well written for the lay person to read" and began to do just that. After perusing the entire book, I must admit, I can feel the texture of all the ingredients and savor the taste of so many of the recipes, but they are just fantasies because I can't bring myself to make any one of the gastrointestinal delights. It just seems that I prefer to keep the gods of Carmine's and their mysteries just that. A wonderful collection of all my favorites, and one of these days.....

Living in the UK and ensuring I visit Carmines on every trip to NYC, this book is perfect! I get to try a lot of the recipes that we have tried and loved and also can reduce the large sizes to suit the amount of people!

Very well written and easy to follow recipes. The flavour is exactly just like what I've had in their restaurants, and that speaks to the quality of the recipes.

I have just received this book yesterday and have taken a little time to review the recipes. I am an experienced (not professional) cook, and the recipes all have ingredients which should not be difficult to locate. Many recipes are "rich" using creams, olive oil and several cheeses. Most call for fresh herbs (nothing that cannot be purchased from a quality local grocery store). The directions are not complicated and I am looking forward to testing a couple of the recipes this weekend. I am optimistic I can produce something reasonably close to the delicious meals served at Carmine's Restaurants.

I ate at Carmine's on my first ever trip to NYC and was pre-warned that i wouldn't want to leave, and still had no idea what i was in for.i wanted to get the book before i left but was unable, thank goodness for Amazon.the food is simple and delicious, not fussy at all just "here is a whole lot of wicked food, enjoy!" every thing i have tried came out as good as the restaurants - or really close.the portions are no joke, if it says 2-4 people you can count on it. I made 2 of the Rigatonni Country Style at my fire hall and 6 firefighters did not finish all of it- even though they really wanted to.you may need to pre-plan a little as often you need to have one thing made - ex bread crumbs, before making the main dish but with a little creativity you can work around it. i use store bought chicken stock vs theirs simply because of space in my little apartment.if you want something that is great for when you have guests this is it, cannot be beat.it is worth twice the price.
