However, i contacted the manufacturer and they updated their firmware to give the power density reading for the RF field (that did not display initially) in nanowatts/cm2 (from which you can calculate field intensity strength in V/m) or microwatts/cm2 or milliwatts/cm2, and it also shows the maximum total power density since the moment you turned on the meter. Shows total power in a band and total power density too. It comes with a rechargeable lithium battery via USB port of your computer, so you don't need to buy new batteries. It has a lot more features out there than most meters under 300, like RF spectrum analyzer where you can see the total power and total power density and dbm for 6 frequency bands, some radio, some microwave region, allowing you to get an idea of what radiation comes out of radio towers and cell phone towers implicated in some cancer and other disease risks studies. This is a very good meter for wi fi range, as i tested it on many devices with wi fi. I even compared it with the trifield analog meter (which is not sensitive in the low range, the needle type of meter), and sometimes got very similar results in the higher range above 50 microwatts. I am not an electrical engineer, so i am not sure how accurate this thing is, or how accurate trifield analog is, but it picks up 2.4 GHz signal from microwave ovens (don't sit near your microwave and keep laptop away from you, since the radiation near wi fi phones and laptops is high, similar to near a microwave oven). If you want a feature to be added or improved, these guys are very eager to do so, as they update the firmware as requested by email, and most manufacturers don't do that. So that's a big plus. I suspect the future versions of this will be much better. The 6 bands for RF are 153-534 KHz, 520-1710 KHz, 2.3-23 MHz, 64-108 MHz, 240-1040 MHz, 2.4-2.5 GHz. The range for the whole spectrum of microwaves is 0.24 to 7 GHz, a wide range now, to be expanded in future versions, per manufacturer, from their emails. This is the meter with the most features i've seen around. The magnetic meter is very accurate i believe, as it matches the trifield analog perfectly many times, the mGauss that the EPA says must be below 2 mGauss when you are 1 foot from the monitor. The electrical field also matches the trifield analog, a popular meter that's been around for 20 years. This meter may become actually very popular, even if now it's not in every online emf store. It has speaker, alarm, allowing you to set it to beep when mGauss, V/m go beyond a certain level. I measured several cars and i was shocked to find that gasoline cars have stronger magnetic fields than electric ones many times (only 1 electric car i could test so far, mine). This meter is better designed to pick up cell phone signal than the 360 version. :) No extra RF and EMF in an electric car, so that's good news. I think the magnetic measurement may be better on this one than the trifield analog. Since many people go sick near cell phone towers, one thing i found is that going inside a building diminishes it and people can use RF blocking paint or aluminum foil to reduce exposure if sensitive. If you are very concerned about RF (radio and microwave frequencies) and want to do a lot of research on these frequencies, perhaps you can buy several meters and see what each does and says the level is at and take it from there - because honestly, i am not a physics expert and don't have several digital meters to compare all readings with. Nice thing here is you can see in the RF graph what frequency a big signal has. This meter may not be perfect for some people from every point of view, may not pick everything up one wants to pick up (every band and every phone brand, etc), but it's educational, and teachers can probably use it to teach about power density, field intensity, electrosmog, RF smog, etc... Hopefully this helped you. :) From watching videos online from wi fi in schools websites it's pretty clear to me that this meter gets about the same values for RF field as the meters in those videos. One video there got 21565 nanowatts/cm2 for near a laptop with wi fi and this is what i get with this one too many times, especially when loading stuff. Wi fi detection, a concern of many teachers and parents, is very good. Wi fi is the 2.4-2.5 GHz band where you see peaks come and go. Sometimes readings are lower than trifield analog for certain cell phone brands, but again, for the price this is a 5 star. Every meter has its pros and cons. the TF2 from trifield.com only shows 2 numbers, while this one can show dozens of numbers, spectra frequencies, etc... Give it a try i guess and if you don't like it, ask questions by email or firmware to be changed or return it. :) ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Home Inspection for House Purchase?
