Great for a bladder inline filter
I wanted to create a quick-connectable inline filter for my hydration bladder. This works perfectly for that. I coupled it with an Osprey quick connect kit and a Sawyer inline kit.I only use treated water, but some towns have nasty tasting water supplies and I'm hoping this will help when that occurs.

Faster than Sawyer Squeeze
Faster, lighter, and smaller than the Sawyer Squeeze. I haven't tried the platypus filter but this could be a contender for the best backpacking filter. Considering it costs half as much as the Sawyer or Platypus, It really is a phenomenal deal.

Didn't realize this would only work with a water bottle.
This seems well made and I'm sure works great. Comes with a backwash thing that is smart to include. I was hoping for a small LifeStraw that would not take up so much space at the foot long, original model. This is not that. The model I should have ordered and will order now is the Peak.

Not sure how I feel
I bputght it for travel so I didnt need to but bottled water or I could buy one bottle and them refill it and filter the water that I poured into my cup. However the device does not connect well to all bottles due to the number of threads required to make a secure connection. So you have to pay attention to the number of threads on the bottle. If there are not enough, you will make a mess. I have not found a plastic bottle that had more threads than the filter has so I do not know how well it would work. I am sure if I had read the directions I would have known this before my second use.

Don’t know why I did not have one of these sooner.
I love this. In addition to the safety and disentary prevention, the first trip this filter paid for itself in water bottle purchases! I would recommend getting a flexible hiking bottle to filter from ( plastic bottles get pretty crumpled after a week).

Cool idea but needs to come with adapters
I'm a life straw fan, but although I'm sure this product provides great filtration, it just hasn't worked for me from a practical standpoint. My plan: use this to filter water when traveling instead of buying bottled water. I thought I could put it on a water bottle and drink straight from the bottle or squeeze water into another container. The videos make it seem so straightforward. My Reality: this doesn't fit on the most common water bottles or any water pouches/bottles that I own. It does fit on a smart water bottle, but that has proved less practical for me than I thought.Solution: I just bought the stainless steel life straw that you can stick in any glass. I'm hoping that's more practical for me.Suggestion: design connector so it fits on different thread sizes. That would be awesome.
