I have only used it with a cordless inflator and would recommend getting one to save lots of time in pumping it up. Very easy and fast to deflate as well, and also easy to roll tightly and pack down into its very small travel bag. The double size is great for one adult and allows for moving around at night without feeling like you are falling off the sides (haven't used it with 2 people but should be fine for 2 small - medium adults who don't move a lot). Originally bought the single size but returned for the larger one once I aired it up and tested it; the dimensions don't account for a 'narrowing' that happens when the sides are full, and the single felt very much like balancing on a pool raft. The mattress does not make squeaking sounds when moving around, and can fit into a carryon bag.
