You then adjust the collet with its toothed cup to sit just on the surface of the rivet and lock it into place with the double-threaded nut collar. Then you slowly drill out the rivet, the toothed cup holds the rivet from spinning and the sharp cobalt drill effortlessly drills out the center of the rivet. I must say this tool is slick, with its plunging drill bit and toothed cup; there is little or no wear to the metal surface and it is removed in seconds...
