Looks good but not the best Android Wear device I've used
Looks great and has a wonderful screen. However, customization is limited at the moment, the side button is very squishy and this thing gets HOT when it's charging.

1st gen is still great
Excellent product visually and functionally. I will state I didn’t need a fitness tracker. I wanted a useful and reliable medium for push notifications from my phone and music controls. This does everything better than I expected (after coming from an amazfit bip) while being visually stunning. Love the display. I’ve not noticed lag like others perhaps they are power users trying to multitask. Overall I highly recommend. I even prefer this to the Apple Watch series 3 (which I sold). Visually this is a better looking watch than apples.

Its nice looking but not really what I was expecting in a connected watch - not wildly impressed.
Ever since smart / connected watches came out, while scratching my head a little as I wondered just how productive it would be to use, I really wanted one.I was really excited as I awaited the delivery of the Skagen Falster smartwatch. That excitement was kind of short lived for two reasons, and both were items I could have done more research on before I got the watch.#1 Battery life - I was really surprised to see that it only had a battery life of 24 hours. Having said that, sporting me new watch on my left wrist I decided to google battery life on other brands of smartwatch (on my computer). I then discovered that this is close to the upper end of battery life for smartwatches, and even the glorious iWatch had slightly less battery life coming in at 18 hours.#2 No speakerphone - again I could have found out that you cannot conduct a call through the watch, but can only initiate answering or making calls on your cellphone through the watch. The element that made it disappointing for me was in the product listing, there is a picture where the phone has the red (hang up) and green (answer) icons along with a contact profile picture. Without reading the text under the picture, I understood this to mean I could take and make calls on the watch.Other areas where I wasn't impressed:KeyboardIf you are trying to type a reply to a text, or if you need keyboard input for anything, you would have to have the fingers of a newborn to get your input accurate first time around. As it is, I keep needing to go back and correct most words. Additionally the alternative swipe function for the keyboard is not a lot better. So far, I don't think I have flawlessly typed anything other than maybe single word responses like "ok", "Yes" or "No". I think a larger face is needed to make the keyboard more usable for a larger section of the market.Voice inputSadly, this hasn't truly manifested into a flawless projection of the future projected from the past. When I speak to my phone, it gets about 95% of what I am trying to say, but the Skagen Falster gets an average of 50-55% thus requiring I use the already mentioned not very amazing keyboard functionality. Now that I have had it for a while, I rarely use the watch to respond to incoming texts or emails. Its not waterproof. It is water resistant, but that never give me any confidence in an electronic product because you never know how close you are to the edge of destruction. Considering I go for a swim after every cycle, I am always afraid that I will forget to take it off.I tried to use the Locate Your Phone feature which once pressed starts off saying "About to Ring" and despite the fact that my phone was right in front of me that was followed by "Couldn't ring your phone. To find your device visit android.com/devicemanager". Needless to say the URL provided isn't clickable on the watch. I considered that a kind of epic fail.In closing :The product listing, mentions that the watch was a winner for 9to5google.com Best Android Wearable from CES 2018. Unfortunately, if you go look up that article, one discovers that maybe it might have been better not to mention winning that award. Here are two extracts from the brief review they did that might illustrate my point:1 - "While a lot of the products we saw were nothing to get excited about really, the Skagen Falster certainly caught our eye for just one reason: It looks more minimalistic and fashionable than a lot of the other Android Wear watches we’ve seen launched over the last few years."2 - "On the software side of things, there’s nothing really all that special about the Skagen, though. Android Wear is stuck in Android Wear 2.0 purgatory for now (Google, where’s our 3rd Android Wear reboot?), and runs the usual Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100."You could almost summarize their review by saying "Its a nicer looking version of what everyone else has.I don't hate the watch, and I actually wear it every day, but I don't love it either. Because it has to be charged every night and I am literally no more productive, I'll probably give it to a family member.

Looks Good Runs Slow
Like the size and style. But the watch itself is slow, hangs on basic functions, or apps crash.

Functional and helpful
FINALLY a smart watch I love. I have owned a Pebble, Fitbit, Samsung Gear Sport and now this one. I absolutely hated the Samsung, the Samsung store needs to get it together. Fitbit didn't do enough, so I have been using my beloved Pebble Round as my smartwatch. It has scratches, i've gone through 3 bands and they do not make them anymore so I was getting worried about finding a replacement when the time came. The Skagen Falster is everything I hoped it would be and more. First of all, it uses Wear OS(previously known as Android Wear). So many options for apps with Wear OS. I can use Yelp, Messenger, Messages, timers, weather, flashlight...everything i use on my phone, but now on my watch. I am able to respond to texts via voice, pre-canned messages, drawing emojis AND the use of a keyboard that has swiping!! The draw emoji feature is really cute, you simply try your best to draw the emotion you're looking for and it gives you results that best match, then you select the one you want to use from there. My default watch face has the weather, time, and date. When it goes into sleep mode, it simply displays the time as i've put it on an always on mode. I have very small wrists and while this is bigger than my beloved Pebble, I am willing to make that sacrifice for the functionality of this watch. It does not allow you to take phone calls from the watch, you can answer the call but it immediately switches over to your handset. This watch does everything I need it to do and then some more. I highly recommend itUPDATE: after 2 months of wearing this watch everyday, i've been having issues with the battery life this past week. Today, it went dead by 6pm and it was fully charged in the morning. This is a HUGE problem, a smart watch should be able to last at least one day. I'm hoping to be able to find a solution to the problem

Attractive and functional
This is only the second Android watch I have used. Admittedly, my previous watch is considerably older, so I should forgive it for being clunky and slow, but in comparison I am quite pleased with the Skagen. Watch is lighter, and band is a nice sturdy-feeling leather. It does not look out of place on a female wrist. Side button does manage to hit my hand occasionally, but not enough to interfere with comfort or function. Pairing and set up was a breeze. Inductive charger with magnet is excellent and watch charges fast. It does warm quite a bit when charging. Apps are easy to add from the watch itself. Small keyboard and voice interface both work well. Activity tracking seems fairly accurate so far- did have to update the Fit app before tracking kicked in. Plenty of third party apps if Fit is not your favorite. Controlled Audible and music smoothly, receiving notifications quickly and consistently. Very pleased.
