The original Wolf Brand Chili recipe was developed in 1895 by a Texas ranch cook and Lyman T. Davis. Recognizing that they had something good, the pair brought their specialty by wagon to the oil boomtown of Corsicana, Texas. There they sold it for five cents a bowl in front of the Blue Front Saloon. By the early 1920s, the chili's great-tasting reputation had spread, so Mr. Davis began canning the chili. At the suggestion of a local photographer, Mr. Davis’ pet wolf, Kaiser Bill, was selected to grace the label. Suddenly the chili had a name, Wolf Brand, which became as famous as its flavor. Yum! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pretty decent, and better than the rest. *by J***M on 22 August 2025* This doesn't compare at all to homemade chili, but it's in a can. so get over yourself. But it's finey itself as Chili and is totally acceptable on a chili dog and is probably fine for backed potatoes. Bean texture is fine making up around 40% of the volume, it's probably about 40% "meat", and the other 20% is sauce - as expected the chili blends most of the flavors together and I couldn't really disquingish between meat & bean - but as chuncks of chili they fine. I found the sauce thinkness appropriate (thick gravy) and muttled well with melted cheese. I agree with some other reviewers that some canned beef stew is nearly this thick, but unless your chili is thickened with velveta it's not going to get much thicker then this and be either edible or "chili". Homemade chili is rarely this thick and also better. So I don't see the point of this issue other than for chili-dogs, which this chili is fine for. It'll be a staple in my pantry for when I can't be bothered to make it myself. ## Frequently Bought Together - WOLF BRAND Chili With Beans, 24 oz. - WOLF BRAND Angus With Beans Chili, 15 oz. - HORMEL Chili Chunky Beef Chili with Beans, No Artificial Ingredients, 15 Oz --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.ec/products/601009607-wolf-brand-chili-with-beans-24-oz](https://www.desertcart.ec/products/601009607-wolf-brand-chili-with-beans-24-oz) --- *Product available on Desertcart Ecuador* *Store origin: EC* *Last updated: 2026-11-02*
