## Overview

Gold Glaze is a premium ceramic glaze designed for Cone 6-9 firing (1222°C-1280°C), offering versatile application methods including sponging, dipping, and pouring. It can be used straight or diluted with water for perfect coverage. Post-firing, it meets FDA food safety and microwave standards, making it ideal for both decorative and functional pottery. Backed by a 100% satisfaction guarantee, it’s a trusted choice for artists seeking reliable, high-quality results.

## Description

Wipe the bisque with a sponge to remove dust and moisten the surface. Improve glaze adhesion to prevent crawling, pinholes and other firing defects.
Glaze may separate and settle after storage or transit. Shake and stir thoroughly before use. Add water gradually to dilute if the glaze is too thick.
Apply glaze in thin layers. Allow each coat to fully dry before re-coating. Excessively thick glaze causes cracking, peeling and crawling. Four coats are recommended; adjust accordingly until full coverage is achieved.
Make sure the glazed pieces are completely dry and crack-free before firing.
Firing Cone: 6–9

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worth every penny. Very liquidy so easy to apply stunning color with texture ever so slight.
*by on Reviewed in the United States January 16, 2026*

You definitely need four coats and high fire and it’s absolutely stunning!UPDATE AFTER LEAVING MY GLAZE SITTING FOR POSSIBLY TWO MONTHS WHEN I OPENED IT UP IT WAS SOLID EXCEPT FOR A LAYER ON TOP. NOW TRYING TO GET IT MIXED IS A TOP THAT I DON’T EVEN KNOW IF I CAN DO. WHAT A MESS. TOO BAD BECAUSE THE PRODUCT IS WONDERFUL EXCEPT FOR THIS PROBLEM. THE ONLY THING I RECOMMEND IS JUST STIRRING IT OR PLACING IT UPSIDE DOWN EVERY SO OFTEN. DON’T JUST LET IT SIT THERE AND FORGET ABOUT IT. TO ME IT REMINDS ME OF BREAST-FEEDING A CHILD THAT CONSTANTLY NEEDS NURTURING.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ But this Gold glaze
*by on Reviewed in the United States June 10, 2025*

Tried once.LOVE! This is a flat lip of a vase that I'm showing in my picture and although you can't see inside the glaze didn't really run down and pool a lot.I had read what a lot of other users had indicated in some of the glazing groups that I belong to and the discussion was between 4:00 and six codes. I put this glaze on the inside and the edge of this tiny vase though I did do 4 coats inside, and 6 thin coats on rim.It is a very medium thin glaze that goes on nicely. And frankly I am out of my mind happy with the color. My next piece I'm going to redux coats to 5 light coats and see how that works because people said they were fine with only 4, some said 6--- So you know it all depends on the user how this will work for youI decided to try the highest level first. I don't think six is necessary.Of course this glaze is cheaper than other most known brands and yet it isn't cheaper when you consider extra coats. So you'd have to figure it out for yourself with the color is worth it..I don't use gold a lot however this is going to be just an exquisite touch to certain pieces.

### ⭐ Terrible quality control. Glaze was unusable.
*by on Reviewed in the United States January 23, 2026*

Due to the great reviews, I ordered the gold for a piece I was working on for a client. After waiting for a month for the order to be fulfilled, unfortunately, the glaze arrived as a giant somewhat dried out clump in the middle of the jar with translucent water all around it. Horrible quality control. I tried for over an hour to mix it in and blend it together. I ended up still with the clump in the middle and what looked like lumpy oatmeal surrounding it. This glaze was unusable and would not adhere to the bisque. The client was in a time crunch, and so I did not have time to go out and buy another gold or to exchange this. I tried a different glaze that I had on hand, but this caused a great disappointment for the client and I ended up having to keep the piece myself. Not happy.
