We cannot recommend a finishing spray because they change formulas often and we would not know when they do it and be able to test on multiple surfaces. TEST TEST TEST You may want to google fixative use with oil pastels for recommendations. **Q: Can these be used in and over oil painting?** A: It depends on whether the oil paint formulation is compatible with the Cray-pas oil pastels and if the oil paint is dry or not. Sakura's best recommendation is to test it to see if it meets your expectations. ## Frequently Bought Together - SAKURA Cray-Pas Expressionist Oil Pastel Set - Soft Oil Pastels for Artists - 36 Colors - Canson XL Series Drawing Paper, Black, Wirebound Pad, 11x14 inches, 40 Sheets (92lb/150g) - Artist Paper for Adults and Students - Colored Pencil, Ink, Pastel, Marker - Winsor & Newton Gouache Paint Set, 10 Count, 12ml (0.4-oz) Tubes --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.ec/products/54634961-sakura-cray-non-expressionist-36-pastels-assorted-oil-colours](https://www.desertcart.ec/products/54634961-sakura-cray-non-expressionist-36-pastels-assorted-oil-colours) --- *Product available on Desertcart Ecuador* *Store origin: EC* *Last updated: 2026-10-08*
