## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is one drop the equivalent of one tea spoon of sugar?**
A: I don’t think so. Coopers advise 2 drops for a 750ml bottle. I usually use 1 tea spoon brewing sugar for a 500ml bottle. My maths would suggest that one drop would be suitable for 375 ml.

So one drop would be fine for a 335ml bottle. But you might be short for a 500ml bottle.

Hope this helps.

**Q: How long does it take for carbination to take place**
A: John, if you are using a beer kit it will normally tell you...however it will depend on a number of factors. If making cider or lager I normally use 2 drops. After bottling leave in a warm space for a couple of days to set the carbonation off before moving to a colder place. I normally check the quality after 7 days. Some are quite palatable then but some need longer. Depends how quick you want to drink it. The real answer is that each beer/cider/lager is different but most get better with age.

**Q: How many should i use in a barrel fo 20l**
A: Hi

Coopers state on the packaging that these drops are designed to be used 1 per 375ml so using that a the measure we would suggest that you would want to use 53 drops for 20 litres in a barrel.

Most beer kits are designed to make approx. 23 litres (40 pints) of beer so at a dosage of 1 drop per 375ml it would take 60 drops to fully carbonate a 23 litre / 40 pint beer kit which is why Coopers supply their carbonation drops in bags of 60 as this is the correct amount to dose a complete 23 litre / 40 pint kit.

Hope this helps
