Is this a top layer soil or a bottom substrate? Help** A: This is layer soil. **Q: can you put gravel on top of this soil?** A: Yes you should do really as it’s it quite powdery. I’ve got gravel on top mine and helps it stay down better. You can put the soil in a net bag too. It’s basically a mesh bag with a plastic zip.
