Review: Nice if you love field notes in the field. - I tend to spill stuff in my field notes or get them rained on so I bought this to provide some protection. Pros: I think the value was pretty good for what I got. It is sturdy and has a waxed canvas look. The closure is a solid YKK zipper with two pulls. Pen pockets are a plus. Cons: You aren't going to be able to carry this in your back pocket like I used to. You lose some of the "simple" use that makes field notes special. I don't like writing with my wrist on a zipper. In the end I decided that field notes are just a bit too challenging for my usage case, and this is sitting on my shelf. It looks pretty, but I have to dust it sometimes. :)
