No Collectors Edition
I have played all the stories, but for some strange reason still prefer the first, but there all great.I have all the collectors editions, and I think it's a shame that anet have not done a collectors on this, seeing as it's the last one. They say because it's not a full blown story like the others, just an addon, but I'm sure it will be good.Other race's would be nice, as there are going to be in this, sort of a follow up to GW 2 I spose.Fight alongside the char, I done that in a mission in nightfall, so who knows.I do agree with what soemone else said about changing the story, they all seem to go down the same route, or link somewhere with what you done before.TBH I cant wait for it to come out.

Strange but good
I'm a very late MMO tourist to the world of guild wars and whilst the game makes some strange decisions (heavily instanced areas)I have found the overall quality of all the games in the series top notch so far.I originally only really bought them to get some HoM points for guild wars 2 (after 29+ hours of play so far I'm still on a lowly 4 points haha) however I've very much put this on the back burner and am just enjoying the content for what it is. If I pick up a good few points at the end then great, if not then I've still enjoyed my play.

Windows XP version OK even if you have a newer operating system
This isn't a review of the expansion as such but I'd just like to give a heads up to anyone else thinking of buying it four years after the original launch. Although the original game was designed for Windows XP, that version installs and runs just fine on Windows 7 64 bit and presumably Vista too. Even if it didn't, it doesn't matter, as all you actually need is the code that comes in the box. Once you have added that to your account, just log into whichever version/s of Guild Wars you already have on your PC and any extra files needed for Eye of the North will be downloaded automatically. You can get the Eye of the North starter quest from a mission giver in each of the main cities from the first three GW games. The XP version is much cheaper than the Vista version of this game, so if you want Eye of the North, just buy the XP version and save some money.

Beware Used Copies
Friendly public service announcement: If you are buying a "used" copy of this, then the CD key will likely have already been tied to another person's Guild Wars account and therefore will be useless to you and you won't be able to play. At best you'll get a plastic DVD case and a few bits of paper, but you could use the DVD itself as a coaster perhaps.

Not bad, but....
... I have to agree with A. ODONNEL. The change in the overall thrust of what one does and where, is not good. Much more farming and tedious rehashing is now required. It is true, you don't *have* to go for these things. But they are a significant point of what GW:EN is about.I too will be looking at GW2 a bit more carefully before acquiring it, as and when the time comes. The game itself continues to look and sound fine, with some additions and refinements helping the new areas seem at least a little fresh. From a technical standpoint, it's rather good. But it doesn't have the magic stardust the others have.

Great expansion
Another brilliant expansion to the guild wars universe - very large and very differentBut be aware that the servers for this are very empty making the game very difficult

Small note
Amazon hasn't noted this but it's important to know: This expansion will need one of the other three games to be used, be it Nightfall, Factions or Prophicies.I'd suggest Prophicies as this carries on from where Prophicies left off.
