I always have both with me while working, but I find myself reaching for these because of features like the curved shears part of the jaws that cut close as precisely, or the narrow serrated ends of the pliers that grip extremely well. The well-positioned cam that locks the pliers closed stays put when engaged, keeping the jaws closed between uses. The wire stripping feature has the sizes I work with and the cuts are precise.
