Previous owners had old acoustic panels painted up there and this was the most cost effective way to make things look new during my reno. Super easy to install, just cut with a utility knife for any cutouts you need. Easy to clean if required and no worries of moisture damage from shower as they are pvc material. The smooth sleek finish looks modern and nice. If you still want the sound barrier from acoustic panels if that's what you have now, then just leave those up there on top of these after installation and you get the best of both worlds.
