The circular-shaped core offers greater electrical performance when compared with other shaped cores in that the amount of magnetic flux that escapes is low, therefore resulting in increased efficiency and less electromagnetic interference is produced. Toroidals are used in a wide range of applications including: power supplies, inverters, and amplifiers.
