A: Most insurance companies cover the cost of diabetic testing supplies. However, you will need to contact your insurance company to find out what your specific plan will cover for a Genteel device. Genteel is a lancing device, so be sure to ask to speak with someone in the Durable Medical or Medical Supplies Department.Tell them you want coverage for a spring-loaded lancing device (which is a unique design & makes it a one-of-a-kind device). **Q: Will the device work with freestyle lancets?**
A: No, the Freestyle Lite lancets do NOT work with this device.  I tried a dozen of them, with every contact tip depth and got zero blood.  In comparison, the Genteel Butterfly Touch Lancets work like a charm every time, even on my forearm, with the yellow number 2 contact tip.  I bought this device and didn't order any additional lancets because of the two people who answered this question that the Freestyle Lancets (I have about 300) work with this device.  A pox on their houses!

**Q: What comes with the lancing device, any lancets to get the user started?**
A: As of 4/10/2017 all Genteel's will include a Butterfly Touch lancet sample pack (10 lancets).
