## Questions & Answers

**Q: how does this compare with lavassa rossa, i like a strong coffee that i can taste!**
A: In my opinion these are a much stronger taste than rossa beans.....recommend

**Q: What is the best before date on these compared to purchase date? I bought a bag from the supermarket in Dec 21 and it was 30/04/2023. Thanks**
A: On my package is B. B. 30/05/2023

**Q: Pics show a tin and bags of coffee, which does it Come in?**
A: The tin shown looks like the standard 250gm pack from the supermarket. The 1kl. I bought was in a vacuum pack. i split that into tins in the freezer. I have found one can buy it cheaper by getting the 250gm bags.

**Q: Approx how many mg of caffeine in a double espresso? i.e. 16g of these beans (it will vary, but roughly, if anyone knows)**
A: I used to work in the toxicology lab for a chemical firm, we changed from a tea/coffee room to a machine. Someone analysed the coffee from machine and it had far less caffeine than filter coffee. The strongest coffee was from a perculator in one of the offices. Espresso coffee was stonger than filter coffee. I can't remember how many mg caffeine.

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐ Very Bland.
*by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 25 February 2024*

I purchased these coffee beans because of the brand name and price. Big mistake.I use a Delonghi bean to cup coffee machine with the grinder set to fine to give the strongest cup of coffee possible. Yet these beans make a very mild, almost tasteless brew. You may as well have a cheap brand of own label instant. The only way I have found to get anything that resembles a decent cup of coffee using these beans is to brew a full strength double expresso over a full strength cup of doppio+.The only upside to using these beans is that it will cut down on your coffee consumption as you will not fancy another cup any time soon.

### ⭐ Horrible rancid coffee
*by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 25 June 2021*

I first noticed something wrong when I ground these beans. They were dry and dusty. Then I brewed them and the whole thing went south in a hurry. The coffee tasted sour and rancid when I put it through my aeropress, even though I had just ground the beans.Next I put them through my bean to cup machine thinking this would make it taste better with a faster brew and higher bar pressure. I tried the beans as espresso, regular coffee and even tried masking the taste with a bit of milk, but it was no good, it tasted equally bad every which way I tried it.So finally I thought maybe steep time would make a difference and got out my frech press, ground some beans to the right size for my press gauze. Brewed, steeped, supped and spat! It was honestly undrinkable. This was my second bag of Lavazza beans. I had a similar experience with the first bag but thought I had just hit a bad batch. The second bag confirmed it though, these beans are horrid and dry, I've had far superior coffee beans from Morrisons!

### ⭐ The taste is very acidic
*by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 26 February 2021*

I have had Lavazza Qualita Rossa many times in the past and enjoyed the taste so I thought I would try this due to the good product reviews and well-known brand. I have now tried the beans and they are very acidic and leave quite a bad taste in your mouth, whether having the coffee as an espresso or a large coffee with milk. Due to the other comments saying the taste is good I wonder if I have received a bad batch that is stale as the acidity is very strong. Unless I find out that this is a bad batch, I probably won't be ordering these again.
