Does it contain alcohol? thank you.** A: It is mainly Passion Flower (70%) but also contains Avena Sativa (Oats) which are thought to be a nerve tonic by herbalists. Yes it does contain alcohol. Most herbal tinctures do as it's a good way to extract the important factors from the herbs. You could add the tincture to freshly boiled water which would evaporate most of the alcohol, but might also evaporate some of the active constituents. You only take a very small quantity of the tincture (20 drops) so the volume of alcohol will be minimal. **Q: how long will this last for please if you need 20 drops per day** A: I had 30 drops at day and lasted for 2 months **Q: What's the amounts of passiflora and flavonoids per dose (in mg, not percentage, please)? Thanks.** A: There is 229mg of passionflower per dose (20 drops). We don't measure the flavonoids. **Q: Is it ok to have them twice a day for years? I have tried all sorts, from 5HTP, St Johns Wort, Valerian Tea and the thing I always come back to is Passionflower.The reason for it is simply because it works and there are NO side effects unlike many other supplements. Whilst I say it works, I mean it works mainly for sleep. Simply by taking 20 drops in a little water about 15 minutes before bed and it really does help the mind switch off.It does also work by alleviating the stress response if taken earlier in the day but it’s not amazing at general anxiety, just very good I would say.I take 20 drops in the morning and also 20 before bed and I genuinely have felt a sense of calm since taking it. Yes I still have that raging lunatic anxiety monster who loves to come out and taunt me at times but the passionflower does help fight him off a bit and like I say there are no side effects whatsoever - and take that from someone who literally has side effects from breathing air!!If you are suffering with anxiety then I feel your pain and just know that you are not alone. There is a book called DARE: The New Way to End Anxiety. I can’t recommend it enough it is such a simple way to deal with it and in my many years of experiencing it I finally feel like I’m in control after reading this book. This is good for people like I who are perennially tired. In my case, it is partly because of my lack of sleep. So I need the double advantage that this complex provides. I have severe anxiety issues so it is not a hundred percent effective and I don't go to sleep soon after taking it. I take it once in the evening and once at night (15 or 20 drops each time). Like all homeopathy remedies, it does not have any side-effects.
