Review: INCREDIBLE - I have a long history of problems with knees, hips and feet. I'm about to have an operation that will make me keep my left foot off the ground for six months, leaving me to hop around on crutches and my right leg only. And it's just at this point that the fibula in my right knee decides to dislocate and play up. I have a few weeks to sort it out or I'll be stuck, completely immobile. In desperation I decided to buy this fairly heavy duty knee brace but I didn't hold out much hope for a miracle cure. Ordering and delivery were swift, easy and the brace arrived much more quickly than I had expected. OK, now this is the part where I sound like the 'stooge' at a faith healer show. I wore this brace for one full day and I really felt the benefit. It did feel very bulky and distinctly odd and I realised that I hadn't positioned it perfectly on this first outing. But the real surprise was when I got home at the end of the day and took it off. My weak knee felt 50 times better than it had that morning. And it didn't wear off; I felt a real and permanent improvement. So, next morning, I was a bit more careful about positioning it just right and it felt much more comfortable and less obtrusive all day. That night there was a further improvement. Now I know that this doesn't count as a 'miracle cure' but, boy, am I impressed! To be clear; I don't have a debilitating injury and I think that I just needed a bit of proper support to help my knee heal itself and, for that, this knee brace has performed brilliantly. Although one of the more up market braces (heavier and with metal hinges), the cost pales into insignificance compared to what it has done to help me. And it won't exactly beak the bank in the first place. I have read reviews saying that, after a while, you don't notice that you're wearing it. Well that hasn't been true for me and, on me, it is pretty bulky, but that's a tiny compromise for getting my mobility back and ridding myself of the constant and nagging ache in my knee. I've had this particular knee injury for more than four months and it just wasn't getting any better. There may be other products out there that do the same thing, possibly more cheaply; I don't know because I haven't tried anything but this. **Q: My knee measurement is 19" - will this fit**
A: I don't know where you are taking your knee measurement but I think that it will fit OK. The Velcro fasteners give quite a lot of adjustment and so long as the circular hole fits snuggly over the knee cap leaving the metal braces properly aligned at the sides, it will be fine. This brace worked amazingly well for me and sorted out my minor problem within just a few days, by the way, which is just as well as the neoprene made my leg itch so much that I couldn't have worn it for much longer anyway. If you are thinking of using it for more than a few days then you will need something between your leg and the brace.Clive Belfield

**Q: I am post polio case. My only need is to prevent the knee bending backwards (hyper extension). As lightweight as possible and no tendency to pull hair**
A: There is a lock in the two hinges on the two metal supports to stop backward movement. Just checked mine and there is some slight movement backwards before the locks stop any further movement backwards. Probably equates to half an inch to an inch at the top of the support bracket.

**Q: Is this a pair of supports or just 1**
A: It's just one support,  but can be worn on either knee. Bit expensive if you need to buy two of them.

**Q: Can you adjust the hinge to prevent the knee from straightening, as when my wife straightens hers beyond about 15 degrees, the ligament hurts**
A: As far as I am aware the hinges aren't adjustable, but the support it offered prevented my ligament from over straining.  Hope this helps.

I saw much more expensive knee supports with metal braces online. This really is a well designed and bought a product and works well. I use it whenever I go to the gym When exercising to provide lateral stability after my meniscus tear. My only caveat would be easier if you where are you daily, you would need to use loose fitting trousers. And while you could wear it Dailey, it can get a bit sweaty Betty so my recommendation would be to use it. Where are you doing activities that require Lateral stability, rather than just general juice, or after an operation for support for a limited period of time. It’s always a tossup whether to wear a brace constantly or just when you need it because you want the muscles around the joint has been supported to build up a certain amount of strength.
