Updated after 2 years, my 2nd ultrasonic cleaner & the BEST!
Updated 12/17/2019 - i have gone through two pairs of glasses since i first received this cleaner, it holds up better than my glasses have. it works just as well today as it did on day one. it also looks just the same with no obvious signs of use. this has been great for me and i continue to use it several times a week.i had another similar item bought last month that regardless the ratings gave up the ghost after a couple uses. so i decided to spend a bit more and try something that appeared 'different' and am VERY GLAD i did.as said i had another unit like some many others available on amazon, essentially clones of the same device but given different names or slightly different looks. this unit appeared on the outside very different. not many reviews but all 5* and all from regular amazon shoppers. that is why i chose to give this a try.now on arrival there is the unit itself, power cord, basket and U tray for jewelry as well as an old school paper manual that is actually good! not that you need the manual but nice to have. i use the unit solely to clean eye glasses. couldn't be easier to use, just plug it in, add water, a drop of soap, press the button until you get the length of time you want and start. FYI the time settings are 90, 180, 300, 480 & 600 seconds.unlike the other unit i had with this one you can hear a slight buzz when on. also and this is the biggest indicator, if you look down into the basket while it is on, you will see the basket looks somewhat out of focus? the clean water looks like somewhat dirty water? that is the power of sound waves at work. the slight movement of the basket and water cause the out of focus look so to speak. another words it really works!the quality of the unit compared to the one i had previously on the outside is excellent. if i saw it in my optometrist's office i wouldn't bat an eye as it looks like something they would have on hand for patients. even if the other one had not died i still would without hesitation would choose this one. for just a few dollars more it is significantly better in all respects.

Performs well, compact, a few quibbles
The following is not to suggest that I think any other cleaner would have met my needs better; I'm satisfied with the choice. These are just a few ways the manufacturer could make the next model even better. So far, I use it exclusively to clean my eyeglasses, thus the choice of size, which is just right.I quickly found that water alone wasn't enough; I suppose that's to be expected where oily dirt is involved. I use liquid dish detergent and hot tap water, and then dump the detergent and repeat with hot rinse water. The time display is formatted in decimal seconds: 180, 300, etc, meaning 2 1/2, 5, etc. minutes; I'd rather it made ordinary sense. The time is shown in minutes as well, but in tiny characters nearly obscured by the frosted panel, that I initially didn't even notice.Although so far I use only one time setting, I have to re-enter it every time: if power has been removed, the device defaults to the minimum 180 seconds; if not it goes to the next higher time from the one just used, and I have to cycle through all the other options to get back to the one I want. That latter foible, surely, is simply a bug. There's a maximum fill line on the side of the basin that the water level needs to approach to cover my glasses, and it's hard to see, being just stamped into the metal. Couldn't it be highlighted with a dab of enamel paint? Or would the vibration wear that off?

Does a great job but the documentation is lacking
This little device really does a great job of cleaning small items like jewelry or even eyeglasses. The problem is the documentation is a bit lacking in telling you how exactly to use it. It didn't take me long to find some information online on how to use devices like this but I would certainly have expected a bit better documentation to come with the device itself so I wouldn't have to try and use something elses documentation in its absence. Also, if you have a cat it might get upset. Maybe it's just my cat or maybe it's all cats but running this thing really seems to bother her a LOT.

Warning -- it is easy to destroy the electronics with this cleaner
The sealing around the switches on this unit are very poor. Because the whole machine must be turned over to empty the water, it is VERY easy for water to seep into the electrical system. When that happens, the timer will freeze, and the on/off switch won't work.

Works well for small items. Well made but not very powerful
The media could not be loaded. ย it is a great ultrasonic cleaner for the price. If you have small items such as jewelries or even spent casings that you want to clean for fun, this will do a job. It is rather a small unit so make sure you check the size of the inner tub. In the video I uploaded, you will see tiny bubbles form on the target objects and eventually pop to remove the dirt.

I like the size of the unit and itโs quiet
I like the size of the unit and itโs quiet. It does take a few times to clean your items but with a buffing cloth to wipe the item with, it helps.

Good for cleaning jewelry, watches, glasses, and more!?
I had Invisalign, and now use a retainer each night. I usually pop the retainer into the Sonic bath before bed, when brushing my teeth, and it does a good job. I still need to brush the retainers to get the stuck on gunk, but this does a good job of getting the big bits. Also does a good job on glasses, watches and jewelry.
