Extremely cheap aquarium thermometers that in general work. Good deal.
For the price they appear to be good. I bought 4 of them and 3 out of 4 worked. 4th one turns on but display only read gibberish. The 3 that work read within 1.5F of each other when probes were placed next to each other in same aquarium (80.4F, 81.0F, 81.9F). If they were thermometers you would not know the difference. The displays are very large and easy to read. I have requested a refund (exchange to China for one item less then $5 of value ????) but with or without refund I would buy them again for a 3 out of 4 yield Still less than half the price of buying one here in a pet store.Update: Seller PROMPTLY supplied a replacement for the one defective unit. It is just as accurate as the first three and all four units read within 1.5F of each other (80.4F, 81.0F, 81.8, 81.9F). I think it is a very good product for the price. Changing my rating from *** to *****.Got my second shipment of 3 and 2 out of the 3 work. Again those that work appear fairly accurate but again one was bad. Will see if seller will replace this one also. Again a good product for the price....when they work. Changing rating to 3 stars ***Of the 6 new that work: 80.4F, 81.0F, 81.5F, 81.8F, 81.9F, 90.0F All reading to within a degree of each other for a very low price. I think it is worth the hassle the bad parts.

WORKS WELL, BUT HAS DRAWBACKS.
These thermometers are quite good, but so have some drawbacks. First the good...they do record accurate temp to within about one degree which is fine for me.The drawbacks:1) The on/off button is only on the unit, apparently, for decoration. It does not shut off the unit. meannig that it is drawing from the battery constantly even when you do nor need to read the temp.2) The suction cups that attach the unit to the outside of the tank do not hold. And the slot on the back of the unit is too large to hold the suction cup in place. It only needs a slight bump and the unit is hanging down from the tank by the cord.3) The suction cup that holds the end placed in the tank turns yellow and I am assuming in very short order will become brittle and no longer hold.Tip:There is a thin semi transparent cling plastic on the digital readout. You need to remove this, then you can actually see the temp clearly. Would have been nice for the company to indicate this. And a good thing that I realized this, otherwise I would have subtracted another star.

Good and bad...
Okay, so, I'm really do like this product for what I got it for. I have two goldfish, obviously not a picky fish otherwise I don't think this thermometer would work. It has some issues with accuracy, just a few degrees so it doesn't bother me. It took a really long time to get to me and it had no way to track it, which really sucked and is mostly why I gave it 4 stars. You get what you pay for: It feels very cheaply made, the suction cup they send for the back doesn't fit well, and the power button you have to push clear down into the body for it to turn on or off. Now, why I love it! It is so small it doesn't detract from my tank, my tank is new so I have some bare spots and it's hard to cover the ugly, bulky equipment. I also love that you can switch from Celsius to Fahrenheit, I think that is a fantastic feature! All in all I am really pleased with this little guy for what I got it for and paid for it.

Decent thermometer for the price
This tank thermometer works just as it says. It gives a clear reading (and pretty accurate, too!) of the temperature in air or under water. Just give it a few minutes to settle first. I use this thermometer when I do water changes in my 20 gallon aquarium, because I need to match the temperatures within a degree. I can do that with this thermometer. It comes with the battery already, as well as a little instruction manual and suction cups (for keeping that temperature reader at the appropriate level in the tank). To turn it on, press the "Pwr" button. To turn it off, just hold the "Pwr" button until it turns off. Really easy.Obviously it isn't perfect (I have yet to have two thermometers that give the exact same reading, but as long as it can get relatively accurate readings, I'm happy. And whether I'm matching 72 degrees to 72 or 75 degrees to 75, as long as the water is the same temperature, my fish will be happy.

Very Accurate
Well, its very accurate. I'm planning on using it for the leopard gecko I'm getting in a few days. (My first reptile ever!) I actually bought two for both sides of the terrarium. When I put them next to each other one said 75.4 and the other said 75.8 so...awesome. Plus its cheaper than the rest of the products like this and it works better than the rest (judging solely on the reviews of other products like this one) so I'd say its worth the money. My only complaint is that the suction cup is not the best. When I put it on it fell within 30 seconds so...not so awesome. I guess I'll tape it or something. Also, if its worth anything, the cord is pretty long I think. But keep in mind that this is the first time that I've used a thermometer like this. Hope this helps. :)

Great for your Buck!
The product came earlier than expected. I ordered two just in case one breaks and to calibrate the other since many of the reviews complained about the readings not matching each other. I use mine with my betta fish to monitor his water and make sure his temperature is between 76.0 - 82.0°F. You also get more than two digits so the readings are more precise. It comes with a ton of cord length and a small suction cup to stick to the side of the glass. That did not work that well so I had to wedge the suction cup a bit in the frame of the tank glass. I use this during water changes, to make sure my central air is not disturbing his water, and to make sure his water heater is working. The only downfall is there is no auto shut-off. You have to be sure to push and hold the power button for three seconds.
