Frankly I have wasted tons of money on contact and motion sensors. I have tried sensors linked to hubs via zigbee and zwave which have their own problems with regards to range and going offline etc etc Then comes wifi sensors which require routers in every room and they have a significant lag ofcourse. And if your wifi is down then bye bye to them Frankly I was so fed up I stopped using any sensors. Controlled everything with voice which works atleast 99% of time And then I read about yolink. Their loran technology. I am from aviation and yes we have knowledge of long range technology and different wavelengths as such. So we'll it seemed interesting. But I had wasted enough money and now I cannot trust anyone unless I try my hands on. For a change just ordered 2 motion sensors and one hub just to experiment knowing I will lose my money again I stay in part of world where we use brick and concrete walls where even drill machines give up, forget any sensors. And when nothing works it's YOLINK which works. And they were flawless. I did a stress test. Kept their hub in living room and I installed motion sensors in bathroom which are inside my bedroom. There are like quite a few walls and doors between hub and sensors. And oh my god they just work instant. Like super instant. They are truly truly SUPER LONG RANGE So they can pass through walls concrete bricks doors and what all and still respond instant Best thing each set up literally takes 20 secs flat. I bet not more than 20 secs ever. I was so happy I order so many more sensors. As of now I have 12 window door sensors, 5 motion sensors, key fob and their speaker hub. To set all these sensors over all it took me like less than 5 mins. Such straight forward pairing and app is straightforward. Also do register for their newsletter as I ended up getting 20% coupons which saved quite an amount. Overall I feel nothing can beat these sensors ever in terms of simplicity reliability and range which is my fav as its superrrr looong range. Hats off for such wonderful products and technology. You can disable and enable the sensor's alert from the App, but it is not fully turned off, if you disabled the alert, it will not send alert message or trigger off the alarm, you still can check the history of records through the app. Thanks! **Q: There is a delay when using this to turn on third party switch. Is there a work around?** A: If you use the Alexa routine to integrate third party switches, normally it should take less than 1 second when the motion is detected and the action to turn on the switch. Will the app allow me to silence 1 sensor when that unit is occupied?** A: Yes, with the new update that came out a couple weeks ago you can now have separate alarm strategies for each device. I use an iPhone So you could have one alarm strategy named un occupied and another named occupied. Then just change the strategy for the one(s) that are occupied. **Q: Would a ceiling fan set the motion sensor off, making it signal that there is motion in room, even though no person is in room?** A: I have several in my house, garage and barn. The one at the front door sends notification of visitors and turns on lights. The one in the barn just turns on two sets of lights. These sensors have different levels of sensitivity settings that I had to experiment with to get it to works the way I wanted it to. Try one and if the fan sets it off try moving it or adjusting the sensitivity levels. You will also need a YoLink hub for all you sensors and switches. This sensor works great. I have it set up in the basement and it will let me know each time my cat goes to his liter box. The vet wanted to know how often he was going to the box as he has a UTI. The logs were helpful keeping track of the data. I also have it turn a smart outlet on that has a floor lamp plugged into. The lamp only turns on when it is dark but the sensor reports 24/7. The sensor also turns the light off after 10 minutes of no activity.
