**Q: How is this better than the previous version?**
A: I haven't noticed this being any louder then the previous. The bass is a little better and ports are covered. I think for $33.99 when on sale it's a good deal at only $4 more then the original but at $40 Not so much. The original is $29.99.

**Q: How many watts is this? Does higher watts equal louder volume?**
A: The new SoundCore 2 has double the watts (2 x 6w instead of 2 x 3w).   But...in order to double the volume you'd need to have 10 times the watts.  So you'd need a pair of 30W speakers to double the volume.

It was instantly clear to my wife (not an audiophile, nor am I) that the SoundCore 2 sounded better.   It's just not "night and day" better, nor is it "double the volume" better.   Is it $10 worth better?   Yes...not just for the better sound, but it's been refined to be a better over all experience which I talked about in my review.

**Q: Can you use a cord to plug in directly to phone**
A: Yes, using either a male to male 3.5 mm aux cable OR a usb-c to male 3.5 mm aux cable, whichever your phone supports.  Note that there may be a noticeable lag, meaning it won't be appropriate for watching videos or playing games.  That was my experience, perhaps not all speakers have this issue.  This was on the most recent firmware (4/19/19)

**Q: Does this have a good sound quality**
A: Great sound quality. I am very impressed with it's performance.

I'm not an audiophile and I don't have super challenging environments or super high expectations for a speaker this size or price. But, I've been delighted by how simple and practical this speaker is. I use it for workouts in my backyard and there's plenty of volume. I use it in the house and it plays music perfectly well from my perspective. It's got a long battery life and it is super simple to operate and connect to various devices. Also pretty cool that it's waterproof, even though I haven't really tested this out. Just glad I don't have to worry if it rains. Altogether, totally worth the price.
