So I ordered the extra wide. They fit perfectly. Of course they'll still need a little breaking in, but I'm stoked. They are really tough.

**Q: are these boots a shiney leather that can be polished**
A: No.  They are natural finish.  Quite uncomfortable; they are very stiff and unlined.  I returned mine.  Made in China and not at all like I remembered a favorite pair I had decades ago.  Things change.  Hope this helps.

A: No, they are not waterproof; however a good application of mink oil will solve that

A: Yes

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice leather... excellent value

I love the half-hide natural leather and I expect it will wear well. Only difference between these 'snoot boots' ( civil war boots ) and my original pair is that the snoot part of the boot is 1/2 inch wider across the tip ( which is great if you have a wide toe spread ). My original boots was about 1/2 inch higher in the heel - but I will take them to a shoe repair and have them add a 1/2 inch rubber heel on to the boot. The shoe shop will be able to blend the addition on to the heel so that it will look like it came that way. I guess I am still stuck in the 1970 mode of how these civil war boots were suppose to look ;) The only other modification I did to these boots was take an exacto razor and cut wear the two straps (per boot) are attached to the sole. This gives the boot the simpler look without worrying about the future when the straps get stretched and flopping around ;) As I said... Nice leather... excellent value
