I think the attachment issue has to do with the surface. You need a clean grease free surface. I used rubbing alcohol to clean the area I attached mine. The surface was painted metal and it was flat. It stuck very securely. You can't attach it to the insulation under the hood if it has it. It has to be a pretty flat clean metal surface. The adhesive is basically the same as 3M double sided tape. **Q: Will this work if mounted vertically, pointing straight down over the top?** A: The spray port on the top of the fire extinguisher can work no matter which direction it faces, provided that you need to ensure that it is installed in the engine compartment **Q: Can these be used in off-road utility vehicles all-terrain vehicles four wheelers?** A: Of course it can be used.
